Brown Creek Campground Outside Shelton, WA First come, first serve Stayed August 2017 I didn't get a chance to explore the entire campground so I can only speak for the site we stayed at, #2. It's a great site with a picnic table and fire ring. There is a short, steep slope to the tent pads. A family of Steller's jays reside there and they did like to make their presence known (don't yell at them to shut up, just makes it worse). Some people drove to the pit toilets at the entrance, which can be far, so expect traffic.  Pros: 1) Huge. There is room for several large tents at main camp, plus more spaces along the trail to the river (we set up our tent in the sand). Follow the trail to the right and you'll find spaces for smaller tents and a nice little hammock spot overlooking the river. 2) River access. Just a short walk from main camp. The water is knee deep and clear that time of year, perfect for small children. Bring your floaties! 3) Private. Traffic aside, we were far from the neighboring campsites and the woods provided lots of privacy. I don't know if the entire campground is spaced that way, though. Cons: 1) Trash. We picked up a lot of MOOP from previous campers. No dumpster onsite so please Pack It Out. 2) Mosquitoes. Yes, it's camping and there are going to be skeeters, but they were especially voracious. Bring bug spray.  We try to avoid paying for campsites but this is an exception. Well worth $14/night.

This is a great site. There are tons of spots to hang out at the river. The Beaver pond is a mile loop. There is also spider lake that is not to far of a drive. It is a great place for kids. "To the guy who claim there are deadly snakes, those are garden snakes. Been camping there my while life and I haven't seen a cougar or a bear." My family loves camping and this is a place we go every summer. If you don't like mosquitoes or horse flies a hotel is the place for you, it's camping.

Several large sites suitable for campers or tents. Several right along the river. Nice pit toilets, and you can pump water from a well. Beautiful forested area, keep it clean people, Leave No Trace please.

Super private camping, right on the river and plenty of trees for shade, bring your bugs pray if it's summer, and also bring firewood for your fire there isn't much dry wood laying around

Great campground, plenty of private sites, not crowded. River sites available, we stayed at one. Trails for short hike/walks. Just be sure to bring garbage bags because there are no garbage cans or dumpsters.
