Buca has been a long-time family favorite...until my husband and I had lunch here. There were chunks of hard, unidentifiable clear plastic in my pasta dish. The chef personally came out to apologize with an offer to fix me another plate of either the same or an entirely new selection. I thanked him and appreciated his concern but politely declined. He comped my meal (having been sent back of course) and brought a replacement "take home" full family sized portion. Assuring me that he had made it himself, but "without the plastic". Once we arrived home, I started to plate some of the pasta for my daughter. As I pulled the spoon through, I again spotted more hard, clear plastic pieces. Yes, of course I was looking. No, I did not expect to find it yet again! I called Buca immediately and asked for the manager. I gave him my name and explained to him that I was calling to make them aware that their entire alfredo sauce needed to be thrown out and a new batch made prior to their dinner service. That not once, but twice the pasta I had been served was full of some kind of hard plastic. He was the polar opposite of the head chef that had been so polite and apologetic to me not even a half hour earlier. The manager was abrupt and dismissive of my concerns and borderline rude. Even though I clearly stated I was not calling with any expectations other than to avoid anyone else chewing on a mouthful of hard plastic, as I had during lunch and my 9 year old daughter could have - had I not been more cautious. Unfortunately, this will be our last visit to the Louisville Buca.

Service was good. Food was delicious. However, we ordered bread off menu. We weren't told you get bread with your meal. I think we should have been told that, when we ordered the bread. But, otherwise, it was a great experience.

Buca is my favorite Italian restaurant so far. The portions are huge and very delicious. The atmosphere is so cool, it feels like you’re in a real Italian home. Also, they are always offering really good coupons if you sign up for their email program. Highly recommend!

I don't normally write reviews. But my experience was truly awful. My party sent back garlic bread that tasted so chock full of garlic. And instead we got cold hard Italian bread. Our food was vastly underwhelming. Hard Ziti noodles and pasta with no flavor. I do not recommend this place for anyone to come to. The only good was our drinks tasted fine and the staff was friendly. But friendly staff and Pepsi does not make up for awful food.
