This place suqks big time.   Believe the reviews.  They put me on hold like she was disturbed i called askn for price rental for one day.  Put me on hold hoping i hanged up.

Worse place ever. Vehicle has a nesting of red ants, they bit me, my  4yr old son n family. Customer service instructed me to come to this location so they can trade vehicle immediately. Now i am here and they are refusing to swap vehicles even though there is a nest of red ants.  

Spoke with a thomas ID # 38378 sep 24 2017 at 12:18pm who was very rude and of no help.  Totally unacceptable  that i now have to drive 6 hours back with my family; with red ants all over the vehicle.

This is the worst rental car business you can choose in Mcallen... do NOT rent from this location.  I have frequently rented from Avis and Enterprise and have never had any issues with them in the past. If I could give this location 0 stars, I would.  I had a reservation to pick up a car in McAllen and drop it off in San Antonio, but the stupid clerk pulled up the wrong rental agreement.  I realized the error when I was already in San Antonio, and called Budget.  The customer service rep stated that I should not worry about returning the car in San Antonio because it was the clerk's mistake and could easily be cleared up at the counter. I should not have trusted the rep because, as I found out later, the corporate office does not have any power over the greedy franchisee in McAllen.  The owner at the McAllen location is the worst kind of businessman; the kind that would rather rob you once instead of making a customer for life.  I was charged a hefty fee for violating my agreement, and I am starting to think the "mistake" was made on purpose.  I'm sticking with Avis and Enterprise from now on... and will make sure that they are corporate owned locations... or at least owned by honest businessmen or women.  Read the reviews and run from this business.

First of all, my mistake to gave them 5 stars. Not even 1 star.  The car had minor scratched at rear bumper and agent who gave a car to me was notified with vehicle damage report document before I took the car.  Last day dropping off a car, the person went to inspect and got final mileage of that car.  They processed the paper work the cost for rental.  Everything went well with no major damaged of vehicle, and I left the rental place.  Hours later, I was disappointed and very sad feeling.  They called me after dropped off the rental vehicle, and they stated that the car had damaged at rear bumper and want me to responsible and paid for the damaged.  This is total rip off and I never do business with the Budget rental car ever again.  I'm not recommending to rent the cars with them.

Horrible experience. Not even the 1 star but had to put one to be able to review. Turned vehicle in, kept to contract if travel local within Valley unlimited miles. In their opinion I ran too many miles now have to wait to be billed to give them enough time for GPS to come back. Have never been hassled like this before next time will stick to enterprise  (they don't give the constant excuse well were privately owned.) If you don't want a headache do not book with BUDGET.
