The staff are incompetent and rude. Go across the street to Enterprise for a much better experience. When I arrived to pick up a car reserved online,  the woman at the front desk informed me that they did not have any cars available. I asked her when they expected to have a car available to which she snapped "I don't know" and refused to check availability at surrounding budget lots. As I left, a car pulled up to be returned. I asked her if I could rent the incoming car and she called her manager out. The manager came out, ignored me, muttered at the computer screen and ran back to his office. The woman at the front desk then said she wouldn't rent the returning car and tried to blame my online reservation their lack of rentals.

These people are not willing to work with local Vermont companies or individuals.  Very disappointing considering theanager would not even speak with me.

My son reserved a one way compact car there online to drive to Logan Airport. BEWARE!!! We were told that instead, this was the only vehicle they would give him because it needed to get to Boston. In other words "YOU are paying US to  transport OUR truck down to Boston!!!" 

When he got to Budget they told him he could only have this big four door pick up truck they had waiting They tried to sell it as an upgrade, which was NONSENSE! So instead of 30 MPG, he was expected to fuel a vehicle that got 15 MPG. When we balked, he was first offered $20 towards gas. We balked again and he was then told he could return it half filled. He still ends up subsidizing Budget's transport costs.

Since he needed to get to the airport he took it, but everyone should know how slimy that business is. The desk person was very nice, but her supervisor on the phone has absolutely no business ethics. He was totally ripped off by Budget. Don't go there if you can avoid it!
