Have been her a few times now and I am surprised at the consistency of the Fresh Produce and sale prices. That was before I got to the Fresh Meat Market! These butchers really know their craft!

Prices are fine. I worked at the deli and the cashiers are snobs to everyone, they think they're entitled or something. I never even got as much as a hello from the management there when I went in. They don't even want to be there and it's obvious. The place is disgusting and old. And if anyone even knew how DISGUSTING the deli is behind the counter you wouldn't wanna buy more. Health code is kind of thrown out the door. Sanitation is close to nothing. The meat is not handled properly and they don't wrap up there turkeys or hams at night time so we had to let them just sit in the case. I really don't know why anyone wants their meat from their. Go somewhere more cleaner for your nitrate filled meats. ALSO, they finally cleaned the grease trap which stunk up the whole produce lobby all the way to isle 4 i believe all when I was working one night for the first time In years probably that that had been done? No idea, but im aware they just don't wanna pay for anything like that. Also we only had dirty dingy nasty rags we reused to clean the slicers. There is no management in the deli after 3-5pm so deli clerk's can act as they please, which leads to unsanitary conditions. This place sucks.

I was a manager in the deli department, let me warn you, the workers are not clean and sanitary. Only 2 people that work there got it together and don't deserve to be put under the management of their manager in the department. I would not recommend anyone to apply there, especially if your skin is BLACK. Those who are afraid to get on Judy Butera's bad side is really sad. There are many people out there willing to work and make a difference but these people who have different skin color is so bad to this company which breaks my heart. It was my last straw when I over heard "hire Mexicans because they actually work and don't care how much they make as long as they get paid, black people don't work, they steal" James from meat department is one of the kindest souls I have ever met, that company does not deserve him. He's been there for a very long time to where they can't fire him. I give him props. Very racist, threatened to fire anyone in all different departments that considered hiring anyone that was not Caucasian. Not only is the management unprofessional, they will do anything they can to sell any product whether it is out of date or unsafe for consumption. When I worked there, I was "written" up numerous times for "wasting" products that have been out of date and had visible mold. I was yelled at for not trimming the mold off and selling the product. The manager in that department told me it was "still good" and to "reduce it" when it even had a smell to it. I still threw away the product and did not hear the end of it. Every time I took time off or even after I left, the deli manager and other employees DO NOT check dates either out on the floor, behind the deli counter and inside the case. Since I have been gone, i've heard from numerous people that the deli products have been seen way out of date and still displayed in the front case. I would strongly advise you and your families if you do choose to shop at Butera, DOUBLE CHECK, SMELL, LOOK at your products you receive from the deli and the meat department. Meat sits in carts all night in the back of the store, not frozen, chilled, and not wrapped what so ever. I am so glad I decided to leave and throw this place behind me, very bad environment to be around. Thanks for reading

Butera has a nice variety of ethnic foods, and their sales are great. Deli is very good. Staff is helpful, too.

It's handy when you don't want to travel 5 miles to Jewel, Wal-Mart, or Marianos. Every time I go in there, produce looks so fresh. Interior is a little dated, but a good place to go when you need a specialty item and do not want to spend an hour to get it.
