Great place to eat! We sat at the bar and the bartender was great and made the best Peach Mule I ever had! I am only giving 4 stars because they only had one vegetarian item on the very large menu. I got the Southwest Vegetarian Burger which was very flavorful and the fries it came with were awesome! My roommate got the the Tuna Steak and said the sauce they put on it was awesome and it came with the best corn mixture she has ever had. She also mentioned she didn’t think the tuna was cooked that great.
Went here for breakfast Sunday morning. Staff were friendly and responsive. The place has a great vibe and expresses a Cajun theme well. Fun memorabilia is all over the walls, tables, and even in the rafters. We enjoyed reading Happy Days cards on our table. I had the chicken and waffle. The waffle was great but the chicken was surprisingly bland. I suspect dinner/drinks here would be awesome to watch a game.
Buzzard Billy's is awesome! First time to check it out and it was very cool! Love the decor! From the tables to the walls, are covered with history from yesteryear famous people, sports, and advertising signs! So fun to look at!! Our meal was great and delish! Enjoyed every bite!! Our server was very friendly and courteous! Very clean and well kept! Thank you Buzzard Billy's!!
Traveling through Lincoln & based upon a previous positive experience at La Crosse location, had high hopes. Unfortunately, came away disappointed. Order the Blacked Chicken sandwich & Gator Fingers. Although the cut of chicken was a bit on the small size, it was nicely seasoned & fairly tender. Based upon menu description, expected the fingers to be cut into strips, but if there was any gator, it was small tidbits that were overwhelmed by the amount of breading. The surface of our table has a stickiness to it, even after our waitress wiped it down. And while understanding these are challenging times in the food service industry, this was my first time being served by a waitress who was also juggling carrying an infant on her hip. Update - Thank you for your response. As evidenced by the exterior photo people in shorts, my review is tardy. I only recently came across my receipt which prompted my review.
Had an all day experience. Went for breakfast & sat outside. We were so relaxed that we had lunch as well. The service was awesome, friendly. I actually felt like I was in the Big Easy. The food, Sazeracs & Hurricanes were all fantastic. My new spot.Food: 5/5
Came here with my fiance for dinner to celebrate his birthday. We really liked the variety of items here! So many to choose from, but the downside was that they didn't have too many modifications available to make it healthy. He got the Alligator Grand Chenier. The dish was just as described. Bearded alligator meat in a creamy sauce with mushrooms and onion. What a massive serving size here! We were both shocked at the size of the dish that came. A large amount of sauce with some alligator meat in it. I was really hoping there would be more meat though. I asked before if it were possible to get the sauce on the side or something but it turned out they cooked the meat in the sauce and it's all prepared ahead of time. It would have been great to get that sauce on the side and control the serving size but overall it was a good dish. I ordered the Chicken TchoupitoulasCajun style grilled chicken breast which was cooked perfectly and quite fresh. The Cajun seasoning on there was top notch! We both got a side of Cajun cream corn and steamed vegetables. The vegetables were quite a generous amount. And perfectly steamed. A collection of broccoli, cauliflower and yellow squash as well as carrots. The creamed gone tasted so rich and had a really really deep flavor to it. A very very serving size. Here is well. I had some and took the rest to go but ended up not having any more the next day because I called to ask about the ingredients and it turned out they had quite an amount of heavy cream and bacon grease in there. Not the most healthy option, but really good and taste if this is not something you care about too much. He also got a Moscow mule strawberry basil I think. I found it quite strong because I don't drink too much but he loved it.
First time coming. Pretty dang spicy, reminds me of Thai food levels of spicy. Really enjoyable "rasta pasta" that was like a spicy version of Alfredo pasta with chicken. Alligator tail was good. Nothing bad to say about the place honestly. I'd come here again.Food: 5/5
Such a great cajun restaurant! For the appetizer we tried the armadillo eggs- juicy and the bacon was crisp, perfect! I got the Rasta Pasta - it has Caribbean spices and jamaican jerk chicken. Delicious but word of caution- eat it fresh as it didn't reheat the best a littly gummy and the chicken dried out. Hubby got the Chicken Creole- he absolutely loved it. You can tell the ingredients were simmering all day because it was so packed full of flavor! He also got a cup of the Grilled Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo to go which was outstanding! Reheated very well!
Had the Cajun Combo and my son had the boneless wings with Buffalo sauce. He enjoyed his wings, Cajun combo was a great size. Hush puppies were great, fish was good as well as the gumbo. Jambalaya was. Ok. Service was good as.
Had an absolutely horrible experience today for lunch. This was my first time trying Buzzard Billy's and I was super excited. We got the Armadillo Eggs and some brunch items French Toast and Chicken and Waffles since it was a Friday they offer breakfast on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. My hubby's Chicken and Waffles were good, but I was really disappointed with the French Toast. Instead of normal slices of bread this dish consists of 3" tall cut up baguette pieces, which were so overcooked they were hard. Picture browned, hard horse hooves of bread - that is what was presented to me by our waiter. I couldn't even cut into the bread because the pieces were so hard, eventually pulled them open to get out some of the bread instead. I threw out 90% of the bread husks because they were too hard and inedible. The Alligator Eggs were great...until we began to realize that the chicken looked pink. We commented to the waiter about this and he said that "Oh, that's just the color of the bacon near the chicken," but I think it's fairly obvious from this picture that the chicken itself was pink. I also gave some feedback about the French Toast being too hard and inedible, and they did not even offer to comp my meal or give a discount. Very disappointed in the whole experience.
