The good we had here was delicious!! The grilled cheese was absolutely phenomenal! The tomato soup was yummy too. The fries are a bit sweet, which is unique! My husband’s burger wasn’t overly special, but it still tasted good. The Buffalo wontons were tasty!!! They have a very fun decorated inside. The patio is simple, but works!
My fiance and I came here to celebrate our 4 month anniversary after some of the other places in Lincoln closed down because it was past 10:00. Really appreciate how these guys are open late and also really love the food here! We both got the roasted cauliflower tacos to share as a starter. The cauliflower is roasted to perfection and had a really good flavor. The tahini sauce on those tacos was also amazing and everything went together so well. Only downside was at the cauliflower was quite oily. I pressed out the oil with paper towels and everything was great after that. For the main course I ordered the Southwest salad with chicken. Oh my! What a beautiful beautiful salad this was! So massive as well. Abundance of greens. Extra abundance of jalapenos which I put on the side later. Fresh cheese. Crispy tortilla chips. Red onions, a really amazing bean and corn mixture and that beautiful dressing on top! Everything really really went together so well. That dressing was so good, even my fiance took some for his side salad! He ordered a burger without the bun and really really liked it. I think it was the Bar Zee Dbl Smash Burger, But I'm not too sure. The cheese was perfectly melted though and the meat perfectly cooked. That onion ring was also crispy. Everything went really well he said.
Great ambiance! Fun atmosphere and decor with vintage album covers and chandeliers. Lots of different beers on tap. Great menu selection. Bruschetta turkey burger was wonderful! Also had a yummy strawberry basil mule! Prices were reasonable for portions.
Excellent reeses cake dessert! The beer flights are good- the nashville hot chicken sandwich was a little soggy but good flavor. The burgers are yummy and the brisket french fries were outstanding
First we ordered appetizers... a basket of salted pretzel bites with a horseradish/honey mustard dip and a house beer cheese blend. Let me tell you guys.... the cheese dip was amazing!!! Then I ordered a Stella blue burger and it was on point!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
The service was phenomenal. The food was underwhelming. I had the brisket tacos and was expecting a street taco but it was more like a quesadilla. My friend had the boneless wings and said they tasted odd. She mentioned that to the server who subsequently told the manager. The manager came over and specifically asked how our food was and my friend explained that the wings had an off flavor in the manager was very apologetic and took the cost of the wings off of our ticket. It was unnecessary but appreciated.

He was very knowledgeable with his products and the flavors. Atmosphere Not too loud, didn't really notice any music, and I believe there was a few TVs but not facing the direction I was. Drinks Hop Cat Margarita Zomer Wit from Omaha, Farnam Brewing House Company Overall great place to try in Lincoln, especially if you've got an event downtown! Parking wasn't too bad, but we were down for a little walk on this beautiful 60° spring break day. Thank you for good food, and reasonable prices.
A really great place to enjoy some good bar food and a local brew. I've been here more times than I can count and the food always impresses me and the service has always been good and timely. If you're in Lincoln for a game or just a weekend, consider adding them to your lunch or dinner plans.
In town for work tonight, I needed to get something to eat and it was approaching 10 pm on a Sunday night. Lazlo's was closing. They pointed me to HopCat. I'm glad they did! The bar tender, Zac, delivered stellar service along with sagely advice. He guided me through a dealers choice journey that didn't disappoint. The beers he brought me were just delicious a stout and IPA. The dinner selection: the grilled cheese but this wasn't your mom's grilled cheese. This was a grown up grilled cheese with a cherry on top! They call it the Madtown Grilled Cheese! Fries were perfectly crispy and dipped in the cheese sauce only made them tastier Zac's suggestion again. He also added chicken and removed the apples both great calls. Then the red pepper gouda bisque was my dessert after the sandwich and fries were demolished Zac was attentive and communicative. He even helped out the kitchen staff who was unstaffed and struggling with a high volume of food orders at the end of the night of course everyone at the bar had their drinks before he stepped into the back to help out. My visit to HopCat was excellent. I expect yours will be the same, especially if you are served by Zac at the bar
Seated our selves as the sign instructed. We were helped within a short reasonable time as it appeared there were only 2 workers up front. Never needed to wait long for a refill. Friendly and attentive waiter. However, I ordered the fish and chips and there was only one small piece of dish and a small amount of fries. I was not happy at all with this. The person with me ordered the nachos and the chicken was cold. I hope we don’t get sick because of this. The cheese sauce was good but a little runny. Overall, not a good experience. Probably won’t risk coming here again and trying anything else and the person with me thinks the same. Thus the 2/5 stars. Parking: We came when it wasn’t so busy so we were able to park right across the street. In a free meter.
