Inspired by the European tradition of cafe dining, Cafe Bernardo is a comfortable place to go anytime for fresh, high quality food at a reasonable price. With four locations in Sacramento and one in Davis, it’s become a staple in the Sacramento dining scene.

Cafe Bernardo is guided by the same principles of service and food preparation as the Paragary Restaurant Group dinner houses, but in a more relaxed casual atmosphere.

I went here twice so far and it is now my favorite breakfast place. I did not know that French toast can be so good until I tasted their French toast. The waffles here are also great, and I enjoyed them to the fullest. The drinks are just okay, with the coffee rather strong. Their mocha was more than satisfactory for me, though I'm not very picky in coffees and espressos so I'm not a very reputable source on that. But if you come in here any time before 11 and get some French toast you will not regret it. It is also a clean place with great service. Highly recommend.

I came here with a group of 30 people after having gotten married earlier that day. I was aware they could not reserve seating but when we got there the staff was able to set up tables, store our cakes, and serve us without any issues. The bar and the main restaurant worked with us and the staff was polite and welcoming. Johnny, who I believe is the manager, took great care of us and made us feel very comfortable. The drinks were great and the food was even better! My husband and I ordered the steak with potatoes and string beans and it was the best I've ever had! We plan on making this our "special occasion" restaurant.

This is my favorite spot for breakfast in Davis. On weekends the bar is open in the morning and is usually quieter and less crowded. As someone who has thoroughly explored the Davis dining scene, I can confidently say the food and service here is some of the best you'll find in town.

Quality of the food is great. However the service can be very slow. It's a good place for casual dining.

Best breakfast in town. Ambiance is nice and outdoor seating is right on the sidewalk. Lattes are served in huge cups with lots of foam. Hotel is up above the restaurant.
