What a charming neighborhood place this is!  I would love to write what others have, i.e., good food and good service, but unfortunately that was not our experience.  We stopped in for a drink and were excited because it is such a sweet place.  It has a cozy bar..too cozy as tables are so close to the bar that you cannot get away from a conversation at the bar.  We ordered French fries with our drinks to see how they would be.  After 20 minutes we gave up on that as they were not to come out we felt. This is not too awful long to wait in a busy place, for sure.  However, I counted two occupied tables in the restaurant and no-one was eating in the bar.  We paid our tab after they took the fries off and left.  Sad, because it really is a charming place.  As a neighborhood place maybe you have to live there to appreciate it?

March Dining Month!! The quality of food here is top notch. We had one March Dining Month meal ($33 for soup, main course, dessert). Added some wine and another entree for two after tip $92. My only draw back is that the portions are not huge, but it's a good trade off due to the high quality of food.

Cafe Nell in Portland, Oregon was great .The place atmosphere was lovely.  Love the fireplace.  The meal was delicious.  I had the avocado with shrimp ,portion was good size. For dessert, I had the pear & cranberry crisp, very fresh & delicious.  The staff was very friendly & attentive to their customers. Highly recommend this place! !!!!

This place has a great, old-fashioned, established feel to it. The service was wonderful. The food was delicious, especially their bread products. And they have designated free parking?!

Had brunch with my husband.
Wanted to substitute one type of meat work another. (Chirizo instead of sausage because I need like spice) itwas a $3 upcharge so I didn't do it. Was very tasty. Got seated right away. Room is a little noisy and crowded feeling but we enjoyed it and will come back
