By far the worst experience I’ve had, and I go to Cafe Rio on a regular basis. There were 2 guys that ignored us at the register for 5 minutes while they very visibly bickered, and did not apologize when they finally did let us pay for our food. It wasn’t busy, as we were the only ones in line, so the wait was unprofessional and very inconsiderate. The food tasted very poor and looked very unpresentable. To top it all off, we said “have a good night” while exiting the door directly to one of the guys who was arguing at the register and got ignored. Terrible experience in every aspect.

I absolutely love Café Rio and I don’t typically have problems but I had never been to this particular Café Rio and over the weekend, I experienced something that I had never experienced at a fast food restaurant before. I drove all the way out from Deer Valley under the cold, slick winter conditions just to find that the restaurant had planned to close an hour and a half early. I checked their hours online, which stated they would be open until 11:00p. I showed up around 9:15p but was turned around after entering to find that the chain was closing early because they had run out of rice and beans. Café Rio is one of the biggest chains in America, this should NEVER happen. If the people working here aren’t competent enough to stay on top of inventory, maybe changes need to be made. I was very dissatisfied with my experience at this particular restaurant.

I am a Cafe Rio enthusiast. I have had many wonderful experiences with Cafe Rio. Today I called in an order to the Park City. I arrived 10 minutes after the given pick up time so I expected that it would be a quick in and out as my food was surely ready. I stood in line for several minutes behind four other customers. I could see on the counter 4 separate orders ready to go, yet apparently the first person in line was waiting for their order to finish cooking. Instead of the logical ringing everyone else up and giving them the food that was ready, the cashier lackadaisically stood there waiting with the first customer. I left without my food after waiting in line for 5-10 minutes with no progress.

Cafe Rio has great food.  There are a couple reviews that seem rather harsh to me.  It's assembly line restaurant Mexican food.   They do a great job with the number of people that go through.   I recommend it and have been eating cafe Rio for fifteen years now.
