About

The California Automobile Museum is a non-profit organization which features the history and future of the automobile.

Story

The California Automobile Museum offers plenty of opportunities for you to visit. Located just a stone’s throw from the famous “Old Sacramento”, and neighbors to the up 'n' coming Broadway strip, this museum is like nothing you’ve ever seen. This is a world-class display with over 150 cars under one roof. You will not find this arrangement of cars anywhere else as some of the cars are privately owned, museum owned, or hand chosen to be on display. Visit Calautomuseum.org to see exhibits coming and going throughout the year;
Classes & Group Tours: This all-ages facility offers an array of hands-on classes and stay up today on our big car themed events and trips! Although the California Automobile Museum offers free tours daily, scheduled group tours are always encouraged. If you have a group of 10 or more, schedule your date with our Education Coordinator for special needs and undivided attention. If you’re in town on 2nd Saturday, be sure to drop by around 2 pm for a special tour on the inside look of the cars and the people behind the master-work.
Vehicle Donations & Consignments: The California Automobile Museum has an excellent Vehicle Sales department that wants the sale of your car to be successful. Our Vehicle Sales Coordinator will see the entire process of your car from listing it online, to showing it on the museum floor.
Private Event Rentals: Rent out the California Automobile Museum for your next private event. Who would think that the auto museum would be the best place to host a party? We’ve seen it all; birthdays, fashion shows, brew fests, corporate holiday parties, anniversaries, and dog shows! Contact our Event Rental Coordinator for more details: [email protected]

Great place to take the family on a Sunday afternoon. We had a great time! The kiddos thought it was awesome and it's so hard to try and find an activity to take two teenagers to. This place was perfect! Both kiddos had fun, thought the cars were awesome, didn't get bored... thank goodness, and we actually spent two hours in the museum. The kids went through and read everything, taking pics of the cars, and not fighting with each other... SCORE!!! There is plenty of free parking too which is awesome. The price of admission is spot on too for what you get. If your are military, bring your ID as you'll receive a discount and kiddos 5-17 are cheaper as well. Makes for a nice but not breaking the bank Sunday activity.

Museum has more then just cars. A lot of interaction with displays and educational experiences . But I came for the cars. Cars range from the 1900's to today. To the cars you can get into four pictures and some of the displays have interactivity to them with parts you can turn or touch. Parking is free. The museum is a five-minute drive from Old Town Sacramento so if you're in the area I would suggest going

Took My 6 year old there from the doctors to celebrate him being free from leukemia he loves cars especially fast ones. {had never been there before} The Docent was very nice and pleasant The docent told my son he could get on the fire truck and turn the siren mine and the docents attention was distracted by another person. A volunteer yelled at my kid for being on the vehicle he had permission to be on made him cry then mouthed off to me. I will not be back ever! I had to calm down to write this review. Big man yelling at a 6 year old cancer survivor you should be proud of yourself pos

Went to the Car Corral to see what was available for sale. The sales staff were rude and very immature. I will not be going back. The next time I want to go to a Car Museum, I'll go to Reno to a real car museum. The museum lost one of its greatest assets when Mark (Sales Manager) Left to find greener pastures The worst thing is that I was going to consign 5 vehicles to the sales floor. Glad I left when I did.
