One of the very few Museums dedicated to the indigenous people of California. Put it on your list of places to see in Sacramento.

This museum is a bit small but loaded with knowledge and artifacts! They even have some hands-on experiences. My 3-yr-old was intrigued. (It's free for 5 and under.) I was surprised to find a beautiful pond/small lake outside being that this place it right in downtown. Ask them about their 500-yr-old oak tree too.

Great museum with many interesting Native Californian exhibits including artwork, pictures of local Native Americans, amazing stories, and even a dugout canoe!

Emotional ride through this little gem. It's small, but if you take your time an absorb it all.. there's a slew of information. I highly recommend this place.

Located in midtown Sacramento at the Sutter's Fort State Park, a great collection of Native American culture in California.
