Calliope stocks contemporary and mid-century items for the home. Founded by Caroline and Michael Ventura, the shop offers a range of furniture and lighting, as well as unique pieces from a global group of designers and artists. Ephemera, collectibles, books, and art fill what was previously the home of a chandlery in the West Village of New York. Working directly with makers, inventory is sold on a rotating basis as pieces become available.
Calliope also offers a variety of appointment-only services. Activities and experiences range from drawing classes to butchery lessons to flower arranging – all with local instructors.
