A great place to spend a few hours with the family. The enclosures are clean and well maintained. You can get up close and personal be sure to bring your camera for some great shots. They allow you to bring in sack lunches just leave the glass containers and straws at home. There's a playscape available for the little ones and treetop snack shack.

It's very shady and easy to see all of the animals without staying glued to a map (some zoos, you get to the front and have somehow missed a loop, but that's hard to do at CPZ). It's paved, which is nice on strollers, but it's also very hilly, and the railing separating enclosures from the path is right at stroller sitting eye height. All of that is excused by its great value. Become a member if you plan to go more than twice in a year. It basically pays for itself. We go almost every day.

If you've not visited Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, you're missing out. They have one of the highest ratings, if not THE highest rating a zoo can receive. The setting is beautiful and very natural. Great place for family outings.

Amazing zoo! Easy to get through quickly or stay a while. It wasn't very crowded. Lots of shaded walkways. Animals were all active and visible. Definitely worth the drive.

The BEST zoo I have been to! So many interactive elements for kids (and adults) of all ages. The walkways are shaded from the sun. I'd skip the restaurant.
