Story

Caparo is owned and operated by Joseph Caparo Jr. The business was started in 1976 by Joseph Caparo after spending 25 years operating a trade shop for other stores for repairs and special orders. Joseph Caparo Jr. learned the business from his father serving as an apprentice. After graduating high school Joe attended Bowman Technical School where he completed courses in hand engraving, machine engraving, jewelry repair and stone setting. In 1983 Joe received a graduate gemologist in residence degree and jewelry replacement appraisal degree with honors from the Gemological Institute of America and continued to complete the necessary courses from the American Gem Society for certified gemologist degree. The American Gem Society is the only organization that requires its title holders to have continuing education and yearly testing to keep their title. Our philosophy is to make jewelry made to last using the finest quality gemstones, and craftsmanship at competitive prices.
