I appreciate the availability of an emergency care center for our fur babies...they are indeed loved members of our families and we want them to have professional care if an emergency arises....No Doubt..🐾 The Staff and Vets are wonderful people with great skills and people that are there for you and your precious pet when all other veterinary clinics are closed. I do have one concern in that the fees for those services are extremely high... I don't know who owns the clinic....or who sets the cost for the services rendered And it is NOT that I am a cheap scape....but just expect to pay a fee of $104.00 to walk in the door....and if your pet has an overnight stay to monitor them....with an I.V. you can expect to pay $450.00 to $550.00 before you can leave with your pet. I truly appreciate that this clinic is available and the Vet and Staff helped my Fur Baby....but was alarmed by the high cost. Just want to give anyone with an emergency who takes their pet there...a heads up on their costs so they won't have a Heart Attack like I almost did.... F.Y.I. A Senior Discount would have been really nice..🤔

Aweseome people. Sadly we had an emergency and ended putting our sweet dog down, but the staff was very compassionate and helped us understand what the medical situation was clearly so we could make an informed decision.

We took Cookie, our Jack Russell, expecting euthanasia as she was having bloody stools and was in pain. After Dr. Huff Carefully examined her she was kept overnight ,given antibiotics, n I.V. and other meds for gastric irritation. She came home the next day. All of the staff was prompt, caring and very considerate of our concern and Cookie’s symptoms. On discharge we were given clear and explicit instructions. I would highly recommend this Practice for any Veteranary emergency. Jeanie White

The people there are caring, helpfull, sympathetic, and empithetic for the situations that pets and owners are there for. In the sad event that you need a vet. This is the place to go.

My dog thought it would be a great idea to swallow a pair of underwear whole, which caused an obstruction. We brought him in to his regular vet on Saturday morning. It became obvious he would need surgery, and his vet recommended this clinic to us because they are staffed 24/7 and would have someone there overnight with him. His vet sent his x-rays via email, gave me a copy of his blood work, and called ahead to let the Huntersville vet know we were on the way. Immediately when we walked in the door, the girl at reception acted as if she was inconvenienced by clients coming in. She had a very cold, extremely rude demeanor. Girl, I'm sorry you have to be at work on a beautiful Saturday, but I'm not exactly having the best day either, and my dog might die, so readjust your attitude! Check in was a mess but eventually we were taken to a room. For a clinic in Huntersville, this place was not what I would expect. Dirty floor with fur on it, nasty exam table with lots of visible rust and some sort of bodily fluid stain. We are used to our vet which is spotless and top notch in all ways. We finally talked to a tech who was nice. Who she was is anybody's guess, as NONE OF THE EMPLOYEES WEAR NAME TAGS. Eventually we saw the vet, and had no issues with her except for one thing that raised both a red flag and my eyebrow. They took more X-rays to look at his blockage, and when she came back she couldn't get her computer to work properly and asked it we wanted to "just take her word" about the x-rays. LOL Girl no, I just met you 10 minutes ago, I don't want to take you at your word! We were able to view the x-ray and she went over them. He had his surgery which went well, so I'm happy about that but I would never recommend this facility to anyone nor would I ever be likely to return. Another reason I felt uncomfortable with this facility: the vet asked for me to call her with my dog's thyroid medication doseage because I couldn't remember the milligrams. I called when I got home. Later, I realized I had given the incorrect information and called back to correct it. In total, I spoke to 3 different people about this and the last one said she would write it on his chart. But the following morning the veterinarian asked me if I had had the chance to get the thyroid dosage. I was very unhappy that I called twice, spoke to three people, and yet the information I called with was never relayed to the veterinarian. This is wholly unacceptable and very disturbing. We came to "visit" our dog the following day (knowing already that we would absolutely be bringing him home) and they wanted to keep him an additional night. I insisted that we bring him home due to the fact that I was no longer comfortable with him being in their facility. At this point, the head veterinarian did come in and speak with us, apologized for our bad experience, and said that the inexcusably rude behavior from reception would be addressed. Regarding the thyroid medication, she stated that they don't typically give the dogs thyroid medication in their clinic and that they don't even keep it on hand, yet on our bill it is listed as a medication that was given. Interesting. The techs that helped us get him into the car were extremely kind and helpful, as was the one who went over the aftercare with us. We also briefly encountered a male tech who was kind. I don't doubt that these particular people are good at what they do. I also believe that the doctors themselves did a good job regarding his surgery. However in a situation like this, it's about the whole picture -- not just individual moving parts. We were treated very poorly upon check-in and I was not at all satisfied with the level of communication we had throughout a very stressful time for my family. I would strongly suggest they hold customer service training for some of their staff, and definitely fire the younger receptionist with the bad eyebrows and even worse attitude. Also, it wouldn't hurt to more thoroughly vacuum the exam room floors inbetween patients.
