Mark G. Blaskis, M.D. is a native of Michigan. He was chemistry major at the University of Michigan and then went to medical school at St. Louis University, graduating with honors.His postgraduate education included an internal medicine internship and a dermatology residency at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and a MOHS fellowship at the University of Louisville. Dr. Blaskis has been practicing in Columbia at Carolinas Dermatology since 1995. His interests are skin cancers, skin care and aging, MOHS surgery and general dermatology
Dr. Long Quan completed his college education at Indiana University in 1989, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with highest distinction in Biology. He graduated from medical school at Duke University School of Medicine in 1996 with a M.D. and a Ph.D degree. Next he completed an Internal Medicine Internship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. After internship, Dr. Quan relocated to Houston, Texas where he began his residency in dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine. Once he completed residency, he pursued a fellowship specializing in MOHS micrographic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He joined Carolinas Dermatology group in 2001 and specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery. Through the years, he has done over 18,000 Mohs procedures and greatly enjoys the reconstructive aspect of surgery. Dr. Quan greatly enjoys what he does and feels that he has never “worked” a day in his life. His hobbies and interests consist of fishing, playing the guitar, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Annette Lynn, for the past 18 years, has served as the Director of Dermatology at the University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine. As a faculty member in the departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, she has trained over 500 primary care physicians and 900 medical students. Following a residency in Pediatrics at Palmetto Richland’s Children’s Hospital, Dr. Lynn completed her fellowship in Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of South Florida . She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the Leader’s Society of the Dermatology Foundation.Her special areas of interest include skin and aging, cosmetic dermatology, pediatric dermatology, cutaneous immunity, and skin cancer therapies. Dr. Lynn has lectured often on these and other subjects at regional and national conferences and meetings, and she has been active in training dermatologists and plastic surgeons in the cosmetic use of injectable fillers.
Dr. Ervin is a Board Certified Dermatologist specializing in general dermatology, cutaneous surgery, skin cancer, anti-aging treatments and pediatric dermatology. Dr Ervin graduated from Davidson College and the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her internship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. Dr. Ervin then returned to Charleston to complete her dermatology residency at MUSC where she served as chief resident from 2008 to 2009.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Ervin now resides in Columbia, S.C. with her husband Dewey Ervin and her children. She welcomes new patients.
Lauren Carrico Vargo, PA-C, MPAS, completed her college education at the University of South Carolina Honor’s College in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors. She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2005 with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Lauren joined Carolinas Dermatology Group in 2005 and works with Dr. Long Quan doing Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and general dermatology.
She is a member of the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants and the South Carolina Dermatology Association of Physician Assistants. Lauren enjoys traveling, gardening, spending time with her family and working with her amazing co-workers.
Lori P. Mauldin, PA-C is a native of Georgetown, South Carolina. She graduated with a Biology degree from Columbia College in 2001 and then attended Physician Assistant school at the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating in 2003. Lori has been at Carolinas Dermatology since 2005. She is a fellow of the Society of Dermatology of Physician Assistants and SCAPA. Her interests include skin cancers, skin care and aging, and general dermatology. Lori now resides in Columbia, South Carolina with her husband Mark and their two children. Lori works in our Columbia, SC office and welcomes new patients.
