Beautiful campground right next to the river, with friendly staff, but the online reservation process could be better. You can purchase a site or cabin through the website, but currently cannot schedule a date online. So if you miss the notification to call and actually reserve the spot you paid for, you may end up without a place. I recommend calling for reservations until they update this. Other than that, I've had two great experiences here!

I'm in love and even though we just returned yesterday I'm ready to go back! We came with a group of our close friends and felt right at home. The campsite is very family friendly and sits right on a beautiful Creek. The area is clean and the sites are well spaced. The cabins are unique and very space effecient considering how small they are. The gypsy cabin we rented had a queen sized bed and a bunk bed that flowed awesome together. There was heat, AC , lights and plug outlets in the gypsy if needed. Loved how homey the campsite was. The fire pits are very useful and can be cooked on with the attached grill plate that folds on top if chose to be done. The Catawba falls trail is right down the road , maybe a 5 minute walk. The trail is fairly easy unless you choose to climb beyond then it quite intense. There's ropes on the very steep areas to help but still trust your own body and judment as the earth is constantly shifting and may not hold the rope as secure in the future. I carried our ten month old daughter up the steep incline so it is possible but I do not recommend unless you are truly confident in carrying the weight and can react efficiently to the motions of a moving baby while climbing a steep incline. The view of the falls from the top was breath taking and Amazing , definitely worth it and we will be returning asap!

Love this place. I've lived within walking distance for over 30 yrs. Its really changed alot but it does allow an easier passage for the older and younger alike not to forget the wonderful rescue personal that from time to time have to respond to hardships. God bless everyone and be safe.

Very small campground, this is not an RV park. Small restroom, small playground, nice local people. Close to McDonald's, Hardee, gas and old fort town. Black mountain has more food , local stores neat place. This campground has cabins to rent , tent and travel trailer camping. Not alot of spaces, does seem like there are seasonal sites. This was quite, good for a day / night stay. We had level site for 26 ft toy hauler , overlooked river with picnic table. Simple camping, call ahead to reserve, grab ice , wood at local gas station, campground may have some available. Close to falls and old fort town gysier. If your looking for fancy amenities, besides basic this is not for you. This is back woods quite camping. There is electric, water and sewer hook up. We loved the simple quiet space and great people.
