One of my favorite places to hike in Maryland. You can get great Vista views here. To me the Eastern overlooks are more memorable than the ones in the West. I especially like chimney Rock and the Thurmont vista. The park provides access to many miles of hiking trails as it connects to Cunningham falls state park. One of my favorite walks in the park is going to Cunningham falls. Which is roughly a 3 mile round trip hike. This section of trail can get icy though. I was happy that I brought my micro spikes after a long cold snap.

Great place to home with the whole family. The restrooms at the welcome center were clean and the park ranger was helpful suggesting a specific hiking route. Hope to go back sometime soon.

The park has a very nice atmosphere the Rangers are all helpful and will answer your questions. I think maybe the trails could be marked a little bit better

This mountain is a good day hike for pretty much anyone. If you keep a good pace you can do pretty much all the trails in under 6 hours. (Max) I found this place to be very relaxing and enjoyable, the hark trails should be taken down to moderate instead of hard. Lots of parking and maps too along with it being a free park.

Great hiking, not too busy in February. Beware of deep crevices while climbing on rocks.
