Not many people out and about today. Brutally cold and windy. On a nice day many people running, power walking, biking and walking their dogs. Walking between the trees does help shield the wind somewhat and in the summertime provides lots of shade cover. It would be much safer if more people would call out that they're coming up behind you on their bikes and not startle you. Some let you know they are approaching. Also after a rain it can be quite muddy in certain spots.

super scenic 184.5 mile long bike hike path. i bike it each year to from DC and Pgh. quiet even with all the 30-35 campgrounds every 5 miles. brig your own water filter, they have pumps but be safe! this trail connects with Great Allegheny Passage in Cumberland to form a 335-mile bike tour route all the way to Pittsburgh PA.

Very nice park for walking, biking, kayaking, dog walking and generally getting away from the city to enjoy some nature. The history of the C&O canal is interesting as are the locks. Free entry and parking and there are porta potties if nature calls.

GREAT PLACE TO WALK YOUR DOG or just go for a stroll along this historic canal. You may find homeless people sleeping under the bridges but don't worry they're there just for a dry place to sleep.

Lived near this park almost my whole life. Never get tired of the experiences found there. Great place to bike, hike, or walk your dog. Usually there is someone fishing in the canal. Wildlife shows itself in every season. Birds, geese, ducks, turtles, and deer and squirrels, groundhogs and frogs. Historic and scenic makes a great experience.
