Very remote and beautiful. We only found it as we were visiting Ward Charcoal ovens nearby. Our visit was in the fall and the colors were superb. Great ranger who was telling about winter activities - ice fishing, cross country skiing and fireworks over frozen lake. We would love to return here in winter

Plenty picnic areas, camping areas with options to stay in the mountain or at the lake, lots of hiking trails to for a quick adventure, creeks, and the highlight for me was the red road, until here I've never seen a road of this color.

Very cool little lake. Can do ice fishing in the winter. Lots of off-roading trails at the end of the lake.

Great place for the family. I used to go fishing at Cave Lake when I was young. Now that I'm older I can take my own kids there. I caught a beautiful 12+ inch rainbow and another much smaller. My kids had a blast. Water is clean. Facilities are vault toilets only so be prepared. That doesn't make it unbearable. I'm used to having zero facilities.

Beautiful location right off the main highway. Looks like one can do some small boating and maybe some swimming. I read there were showers m, but I didn't see them. The toilets were flushable and not simply holes in the ground. The park was clean. There's lots of wildlife. Plenty of picnic locations.
