I'll  be going to college soon and was curious about the neighbouring restaurants, Cecil's being one of them. I loved it here! I only got fries and a chocolate sundae, but both were amazing. Their fries were crispy/crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside, and served piping hot. The sundae, while nothing special, definitely hit the spot. Then we got some bakery items, and their mint chocolate chip cookie was really incredible. I definitely would recommend this place and hope to come back soon.

Cecil's claim they serve The "Best Reuben" Sandwich in the state of Minnesota!  And YES THEY DO!! 
Many years ago, long before I was born my Mom & Dad lived only a couple of blocks away from this quaint Deli.  They visited it often.  But then my folks moved "south of the river" to raise a family. 
Sadly I lost my Dad when I was 16 but he was always the adventurer, always wanting us to travel, try new foods and explore!  Which brings me back full circle to this little Deli in St Paul! 
I've been to Cecil's Deli on many occasions now in the last 3 years...with my Mom! I love the black and white tile floors that greet you when you walk in, the wonderful smells of meats, pastries and fresh breads before you get to the dining area in back. It's like you stepped back in time for a brief moment.... 
People aren't in a hurry or on their cell phones or even checking them regularly. They're actually talking to their table partner(s), simply reading the paper if they're alone or chatting it up with the server!  The people that work here (family owned) are wonderful, funny, friendly, prompt in service and if you have a question about anything... they have ALL the answers! 
Any Reuben Sandwich at this place is a total winner in my book!!

I love this deli. You really need to go if you haven't  done so yet. Try the grilled salami sandwich, its incredible. And they bake "Russian Rye bread, fresh daily, available by the loaf. Its the best rye bread I've ever had. I always get one to bring home.

First time here. Local neighborhood Deli/Bakery. Had the Ruben that was very good. They've been in this location for many years and you can tell by how busy the place was at supper time that it is well-liked by the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend for "made from fresh" cooking.

The food is the best deli food in the cities. It's very New York inspired. The servers have personalities, and boundaries which I find refreshing. It's a Jewish restaurant, so they are open Christmas. It's usually busy, but there are usually enough seats, despite it not being very large. The wait for the food is usually a little longer than most restaurants. They also have a small kosher store at the front that you walk through to get to the restaurant.
