We have been going to Chanhassen Cinema over the years but we will no longer be going. We have gone here because it is a local business and we wanted to support them but the service has always been terrible and the accommodations meager. The teenagers working there are rude but the adults working there are rarely any better. Two incidents recently put us over the edge. 
The first incident occurred when my teenage son and his friend (who is a guy) went to watch a movie together. He went to the counter to purchase tickets for both of them. The guy working at the counter made a comment to the effect of, "oh, is it just you two guys?" and laughed. Both my son and his friend felt that the worker was suggesting that they were a couple. Whether they were or weren't is irrelevant, it was highly inappropriate and homophobic of the worker to make this comment. They felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed.
The second incident occurred when we went to theater for a 7:35 showing. We saw the time online. We double checked the time online. We got the theater, purchased our tickets (again with rude service as usual), purchased popcorn, candy, and drinks, handed our tickets to the ticket taker who dutifully ripped the stub off and handed it back. We then went to the assigned theater to find that there really was no movie at this time. The movie time was actually 9:30. When I approached the worker he gave me a sarcastic, dopey "sorry" but nothing more. I had to approach someone else to ask if they would honor the ticket at 9:30 as well as give me fresh popcorn at that time. Through some conversation I was able to convince them to honor our ticket purchase for the later showing. We will be going to Eden Prairie from now on. It's only slightly further for us, has way better accommodations, and friendlier staff. Excelsior Dock is a no go too since it is owned by the same company as Chan Cinema.

Excellent small-town style theatre. My fiance and I both dislike the "cuddle seats" that have seem to have taken over most movie theatres in our area. It is awkward sitting so close to another couple.

This theatre provides exceptional ticket and concession prices, and popcorn made with real butter. Yum! The overall crowd and "vibe" of this theatre is very calm and welcoming. We have never had any issues at this theatre.

We drive in from Eden Prairie to go to this theatre, and we will continue to do so! It's an excellent hidden gem!

I've been going to this theater since I was a kid and it first opened. Prices are reasonable and theaters are clean. Staff was friendly too.

I just watched Gringo with no subtitles because apparently no one there cares about quality control.
I went up front 3x during the movie & no one was there.
