The Cambridge/Somerville market is incredibly intense and it can be overwhelming to navigate it. Working with Charles made the process feel more manageable than it otherwise could have. 

Firstly, he's incredibly knowledgable about the market. When we told him about a property we were interested in he suggested that we see another property in the same neighborhood; this comparison helped us feel confident about the property that we did buy.

Secondly, he is rational about the process and set our expectations for the bidding process would go. This helped us to rationally consider what our priorities were in searching for property and what risk we were willing to tolerate in crafting our bids. 

When it came time for us to make a bid, he was responsive and informative about what we needed to do. He gave great advice about how to craft a competitive bid that we were comfortable with.

Charles also has contacts for anything you could need in the process: mortgage brokers, house inspectors, contractors, lawyers, etc. When there's so much going on it's nice to know that you don't have to research every single service that you need in order to get through the process. 

We would absolutely work with Charles again if we decide to sell our current property and/or buy another.

Thanks to Charles Cherney, we sold our Cambridge condo at full price. The process could not have been more smooth and satisfying—we live in Oregon and were looking for someone we could completely lean on. We spoke with multiple agents and Charles immediately stood out above everyone else. You will know exactly what I mean after speaking with him. He is an extremely articulate communicator. He knows the Cambridge market like the back of his hand. He brings extraordinary passion and purpose to his work, and it shines through everything he does.
 
I’m grateful that we found Charles and had him by our side. He gave us confidence, reduced our stress, and navigated us every step of the way. I only wish he lived in Oregon so we could work with him again.

Charles Cherney is an exceptional agent. My husband and I were first time homebuyers and were looking for an expert in the field generally but also with the Cambridge/Somerville area. Charles far exceeded our expectations. 

He had that data to ensure we were making a good offer that was accepted. He helped us negotiate with the seller. And then when the offer was accepted, Charles was there for EVERY step of the way. Minutes after our offer was accepted, Charles sent us all of the information we needed for next steps, outfitted with recommendations for attorneys, inspectors, etc. He came to the home inspection and pointed out additional things for our punch list based on a great eye and good experience. And when the closing was quickly approaching, he did everything he could to stay on top of the seller in terms of the punch list and in terms of staying on top of her own attorney.

Charles did our final walk through with us and continued to check in afterwards to make sure all final things were addressed. And finally, after we closed and moved in, we desperately needed an electrician and Charles provided us a contact that was able to quickly respond.

Charles Cherney  is hands down the best Realtor I have ever dealt with! He is extremely knowledge about the Cambridge market, and very, very responsive. He quickly assessed our condo's selling points during our initial meeting. Even though the Cambridge market is hot, hot, hot, I feel his pre-sales work and beautiful marketing materials helped us get top dollar for our unit - even above our expectations. And during the sometimes nerve-wracking negotiation/sales process, he was there to answer our questions and to provide support. I highly recommend him!

We have just completed a long and demanding home search in the hot market in and around Cambridge, and we could not be more pleased and impressed with how Charles Cherney supported us through this process as our buyer's agent. In the most professional way, Charles guided us in understanding the neighborhoods and the offerings of interest, advising us on value and risk, and giving us the data and insight necessary to make an informed decision regarding making an offer on a tight bid deadline. We never felt that he was pressuring us to overpay. In fact, we always felt his personal concern that we make the right decision for us as a family. Our reward is that Charles helped us find a home we are thrilled to own. We highly recommend Charles Cherney, an outstanding agent!
