Tried to open a 529 account for my two granddaughters was sent home with two 16 page applications, completed them and returned them to the office. About a week later they had opened a regular stock account for my two grand daughters. I called the home office and they said the wrong forms had been filled out. They emailed me another set of forms which I filled out and delivered to the office. Tyler was supposed to call me last Thursday to ensure the proper accounts were opened and answer a question about how 529 accounts can be invested. I realize we had some snow buts its been over a week and I still have not heard from anyone. I went with them due to them having a local office. Its not much of an advantage if no one calls you back.

If I could give them a ZERO, I would. The staff is inexperienced. All of the tenured people have left. The office has more empty offices than occupied ones. I have asked to speak to the branch manager, but he's NEVER there and he doesn't return calls. My "consultant" is only interested in selling me some managed account or getting referrals from me. I am in the process of transferring my accounts to another firm. I would NEVER recommend another to Schwab.... especially the Virginia Beach office.
