Unique place specializing as a tea house and french cafe. Extensive selection of loose teas served in china tea pots. Great eclectic lunch and dinner menu including featured pasta dishes. Quaint decor, good service. Check the website for special events, like cooking classes. Be prepared for tough parking and meters in that area.

Today 1/21/17 was my first time at Chat Noir and at first I was hesitant to bring my future mother in law here because of the different reviews I read about this place. However, I'm happy I tried the place out for myself. It was perfect. My future mother in law and I was so happy with this place. It was beautiful in side, the food and tea was delicious and the wait staff was great. Will definitely come back again.

Went there in the morning before my bachelorette party began so I could spend some time with my family and enjoy some high tea. That was an awful choice on my part. Our waitress was realllllly good but the kitchen apparently didn't listen when she told them to leave stuff out of my food. I'm allergic to nuts and I can only eat certain ones but can't eat anyyyyy anymore because it affects my stomach in a really bad way. I have IBS and it's not something I mess around with. So when I said no nuts in my food, I was serious! I ate one of the tea sandwiches, which was the curry chicken salad (I was told later that one is made with nuts and the tea sandwich is not), but even after specifying that I cannot have nuts, they put nuts in it anyways. I noticed something was wrong the second my throat started itching and I had a lot of difficulty swallowing. There was something crunchy in it and it was an almond which is the worst one for me!! I used to be highly allergic for most of my life but then it has died down over the years. I've been tested!! Now, when you tell someone you can't have something they should make sure the kitchen knows that explicitly!!! I was really unhappy that morning and I doubt I'll ever be back there again. The food didn't even taste that great either! No one really liked what they ate very much. I'm sorry but this was really disappointing and I'm glad this allergy attack wasn't severe. It was quite scary to be honest. They did however take my meal off the check but honestly, it doesn't help me too much when I'm having an allergy attack. I had trouble breathing for crying out loud!! Be MORE careful Chat Noir! Next time it could kill someone. You're lucky my allergies weren't as bad as they once were. Very lucky!! SMH!!! Btw I gave two stars not one cause the waitress seemed nice and actually did a good job. It's not her fault the kitchen didn't listen. However, she should've double checked when it's something like this. Oh, and on top of that, the manager didn't even come out to say anything to us on the matter!!

Very loud on Sundays. Can't even hear waitress speak. DO NOT ORDER peanut chicken roll ups they were awful but every one else enjoyed their food.

On Friday 3/24 - we walked into an almost empty room besides us there were 2 other people. We were seated at a table way in the back across from the kitchen - the table was not even set for service and mind you the entire room had tables all set up for service. The whole experience was horrible - we had to listen to the noisy kitchen staff and the silver ware clanging away. We specifically asked for non pork service and the waiter said he would substitute smoked salmon - there was no smoke salmon on our tray - so we had to ask for it. Will not be visiting again and would not recommend this place. We came for afternoon tea. The pastries tasted like they were defrosted.
