Nothing personal against the mall. It's just been a long time coming. No good stores in the entire mall are left except for Target. Not the best area, not accessible enough, and not kept well enough to attract new businesses or new guests. Nothing really wrong with it, it's just that time. I'm sure the city of Chesapeake could rebuild one, keep the name, and it would do amazing in the right location.

There’s not much to say about the Chesapeake Square Mall. Most of the mall is vacant. It’s a place that reminds us of the way things used to be, when indoor malls were more popular. The people here are nice, though you can tell they all suspect it will be a matter of time before the mall is demolished and perhaps a fancy new strip mall will rise from the rubble in its place. This is a great mall to go to though if you don’t like lines or seeing other people. If you can get what you need from the few stores here, then by all means, this quiet little mall is just the spot for you. The movie theater adjacent to the mall is a actually pretty great. The staff is nice and they keep the place clean. I’d definitely recommend visiting the theater while you’re there.

It's not the same, it's quite boring. They need some more energy in there. I remember when I was younger it was fun something was always going on.

Target is my main stop up at the mall these days. Although there are all sorts of smaller shops and restaurants surrounding the mall itself, the mall has lost 2 other anchor stores which caused many smaller shops to close.
Target has respectable traffic and stays open as do several shops close by.
Overall the mall has suffered and one wonders when the staff will land that next big account. 
Still the area has plenty of shops and there's enough to keep one busy for a few hours. Then there are restaurants for dinning until 10 PM so it is worth the trip if one plans ahead.
Pet smart to tech shops and all sorts of clothes stores ring the mall so enjoy.

There are not that many stores in the mall. As with most malls with no large anchor stores. Impacts the smaller stores. However this is a nice mall and the Movie Theater is really nice. 

There are some smaller specialty stores with unique merchandise. That's what keeps me coming to this mall.  

This location would make an AWESOME Outlet Mall.
