Absolutely beautiful park! The lighthouse was grand, and had some signs to show the history behind it. The gazebo next to the light house would be great for pictures! The scenery was fantastic - even in the midst of winter! We walked along the beach, found some shells, and got pretty close to some seagulls! We also passed 2 herds of wild horses that we could see from the road, they were grazing by the marshes at sunset, and it was beautiful! I wish I had my camera!

We took our car onto the wildlife loop ($8). Certainly worth it - there are so many birds, deer, and of course the ponies! It took us 30 minutes to locate them, but it was a great day "out in nature". Certainly worth a visit if you're around! A perhaps even better way to visit is by boat - either you own, rent one, or be toured around.

I love to visit during any season of the year. During our February visit we enjoyed seeing swans floating gracefully on the pond next to the Visitor's Center and two bald eagles flying over the beach. It was cool and breezy, but we dressed in layers and had a wonderful shoreline walk.

I have had some of the best moments of my life here. I am a photography student and this was the location for our class Major Field Trip. The photo opportunities where phenomenal!! I was able to capture so many first time photos and the Bald Eagle (not shown in it's glory here) was one of them. The views are extraordinary and the staff, especially Chase is very helpful and pleasant. I Can not wait to come back. This is the only photo I took with my phone. I have not uploaded the 1000 + pictures I took to be able to add some of them.

An amazingly beautiful place! One of the best experiences of my life! I saw two bald eagles hungrily devour a freshly caught fish. Numerous other species of birds, and of course the Chincoteague Ponies! The ocean and beach were pristine! I collected beautiful shells!
