A friend recommended it based on the "great reviews" about the place and the food. While service was great, the food was a big disappointment. I could not finish it. I got the veal, and the food was super salty, I know that I could have asked them to remake it, but honestly, it was not worth to me, the sauce just didn't taste well. The pasta my friend got was better, but it was a bit spicy. Let me be honest, any less than average Italian restaurant would have better tasting or similar tasting food. The place is crowded, tables extremely close to each other, but I know that a lot of people enjoy that. So if that's Something you like, you will enjoy the place. The place is clean, the staff were nice, liked the decor. But the food was blah. The dessert was really good, that's a plus. Go there with zero expectations, and you will have a better experience. Street parking was available, but I'm sure that's not the case on weekends. Kid-friendliness: No, it's absolutely not a place for kids
Old school classic modern Italian place. The place is really top notch in terms of the atmosphere, people, drinks and food. This place is really classy and busy all the time, so reservation is highly recommended. We had absolutely fenomenal beef and tuna tartare as well as beef carpaccio and poached sea bass. Their chocolate cake is also one of the best I have ever tried. We were also recommended vanilla merengue cake as best seller, but I would suggest to go for lemon merengue pie as vanilla one, although very light and tasty is too plain to my taste. If you are driving exotic car, they will park it right in front of the restaurant. The place is not cheap 3 appetizers, 1 main course and 2 drinks, 2 coffee and 2 dessert was cost $270 without tips, but it was well worth experience
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. The service here is top notch. The food is worth every penny. The eggplant parm was my favorite dish. This is going to be a place I come back to each time I visit NYC.Recommended dishesVeal Milanese
This probably one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city, you can’t go wrong. This past Fall, I ordered the white truffle pasta, and as usual it was amazing. Also highly recommend the baked pasta. The bellinis here are the best in the city.
Place has a good reputation and good food, staff is attentive and very nice, however the spot downtown is a bit small and crowded, felt like the staff was rushing into taking the plates, replace the maps on the table and get the check really quickly, we noticed it happening in other tables next to us. Not the best experience for the price you pay. Thank you guys at Cipriani Downtown
Dress to impress at this swanky and chic Italian staple in downtown NYC. I saw nothing but beautiful people dining around me. You feel like you’re in Rome. The espresso martini was excellent and be careful with the bread and breadsticks because you can easily fill yourself up before the good stuff. The prosciutto and mozzarella was some of the freshest I’ve had and it paired perfectly with the bread. I ordered the Cipriani Tagliardi Veal Ragu and it was incredible. I also tried the spinach risotto ravioli and that was amazing too. Great date night spot.
My wife and I made a dinner reservation here and this was the “table” we were sat at. There was literally no place to put the food because of this giant stone planter sitting in front of the chair. This is all I can comment on because after the host sat us and we found that we were not getting a different seat we kindly left. Extremely disappointing because we were excited to try a “must do restaurant” on our visit, and by then it was too late to get another reservation somewhere else.
What a sloppy dessert job for a famous restaurant. My vanilla merengue cake looked amazing, but the sugar in the merengue part was absolutely not dissolved it should have been beaten much longer and I felt it like sand on my teeth with each bite. Also Twinnings tea bags is quite a compromise for such an upscale place, there are plenty of modern tea brands with proper tea leaves in the bag, not just tea sand. Overall be ready to spend money here, a glass of champagne, a tea and a cake totalled over $80 w/ tax and tips.
Always a local go to spot with friends, or clients. It’s definitely a sceney spot for New York City, however, I truly enjoy the food every time! My absolute favorite is the meringue cake but was recently told to try the vanilla gelato and oh my gosh it’s out of this world!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: Yes
Was here for lunch. Ordered stewed rabbit and artichoke salad, which turned out OK. Was expecting more. Maybe the pasta is better.
