Story

City Bakery is a local, artisan bakery founded in 2007 by owner, Michael Bortz. Michael is a third generation chocolatier whose family came over from Germany in 1906 and founded the Bortz Chocolate Company in Reading Pennsylvania.

City Bakery is highly acclaimed for high quality artisan breads and desserts. Breads baked by Michael have been the winner of the "Best Bread" in Denver four times.

Such a friendly staff and delicious food! Every baked good I've tried here has been phenomenal, and their soup and sandwiches are fantastic as well. The Southwest Turkey sandwich is my favorite. The interior has a cheerfully, cozy, diner atmosphere. Small town vibes in the city. Love this place!

Nice little place with the essentials: coffee, soup, salad, and sandwiches. Daily specials are reasonably priced. Mediterranean Roasted Turkey is pretty delicious! And staff has always been nice and cheery.

First time customers get a free pretzel! I ordered the sandwich special, an Apricot Pork Sandwich (featuring goat cheese, greens, pork slices and whatever else they put in it); full sandwiches get a cookie and chips, but they only had a half sandwich, which comes with soup. So I got a half sandwich with their mushroom soup, and a giant pretzel (free since it was my first time) for $10 and some change. I took it to go, and the wait was only around 7 minutes. 

The sandwich was good, a little greasy, but still yummy. The pretzel was delicious, soft, with just the right crust and salt to top. Soup was also tasty, mushrooms weren’t rubbery and the texture was creamy, but runny enough to sip from the to-go bowl in my car.

I’d go back.

I love this place! Everyone is so nice and the coffee and breakfast sandwiches are sooooo good. Everything I've had here has been good honestly. The raspberry bars are absolutely delightful. There's free parking and dogs welcome on the patio.

The food was just okay and the service could have been better. I ordered the breakfast BLT and it was quite flavorless like they didn't add any salt or pepper, it will hold me  over until lunch but I definitely feel like this place is over rated and what sort of breakfast restaurant doesn't serve orange juice...weird... . Cookies were good but who screws up cookies?
