Normally don’t leave reviews neither good nor bad! But my experience at this location on 16th and Arapahoe on December 5th was horrible and humiliating at the same time. Ladies at the register were rude and made an impression that I was an interruption to their work. Was trying to get a cup of coffee and use a restroom. But obviously it’s too much to ask for in a empty cafe with max 2 customers eating. Thank you for such a “great” experience!

I'd previously reviewed this location lamenting that they didn't get my order right, but that I still enjoyed the food and I still liked Corner Bakery.  I visited yesterday, a Friday afternoon, during a slow time around 3:30.  The tables were a mess, there was an upset customer waiting for her food.  You ever get that feeling that you don't want to eat at a particular restaurant?  There's a sense that the disappointment you're about to get is going to be epic.  The woman behind the counter told me she'd be with me soon, and gave her attention to the upset customer - that's all right and good, I had no issue.  Nobody in line, nobody waiting on guests, and the cooks in the back are ... well, that's when I started to get that sense that maybe I needed to be somewhere else.  I shall limit my comment to say that they were not focused on their jobs.

So a few minutes later, I'm still the only guest in line, and still haven't been talked to.  This is odd ... every other Corner Bakery I've ever been to, this would never happen.  Finally, the original employee who told me she'd be with me soon comes back over with another employee, and they start chatting right in front of me, ignoring me.  Something in the order of common sense management of this restaurant has broken down, and it's time to leave.

Lesson to management & staff:  When there's a guest in front of you, you cease all side conversations regardless of their import and focus on the guest.  If you're a manager (like me), and you're having the most important conversation of your career, and there's a guest that hasn't been helped, you drop everything.  I'm sorry that you are unaware of this, and I'm more sorry that this review won't have the impact of teaching you this simple fact.

I still like Corner Bakery & Maggiano's, I just won't ever make the mistake of trying this location.

I love their breakfast and lunch! My favorite is the chicken pesto pasta and their cinnamon cake. They also, offer online ordering so, you can beat the line when you're in a hurry.
