$10 for two eggs, 2 pancakes, and hash browns. Prices are pretty average, hash browns are very oily but crispy, pancakes are solid. I like this place moreso because the people are nice. I'm not a huge fan of the "frying oil" smell in the air, but I think it's nostalgic for some people.

Great place for breakfast. Good variety of classic American style plus French type options.

This place is horrible and is a shameful scar on the historic, beloved, and otherwise beautiful Broad Street. We had been here in 2016 with some friends and had waited over an hour for our food. Since it wasn't very busy we decided to give it another chance. Oh man that was dumb. Our experience started out as expected on a Sunday morning - full restaurant with two or three other parties waiting. We were not greeted ever but were seated at the counter rather quickly. Within a few minutes we had ordered. This is where everything stopped. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Everyone looked busy enough behind the counter - including the frantic cook who I observed swapping the ticket orders several times. And by that I mean is actually changed the priority of the orders! Eventually, the people who waited at the door for us had eaten, paid, and left. We were the only people left from the first crowd and were told "your food's coming out ... in about 10 minutes..." We tried to ask about the status of our order but the waitress was very abrupt and kept walking away from me (not sure what she was doing but it wasn't much). Nearly an hour after we walked into the place I got my plate of food. I looked up at the rude waitress and said, pointing at my partner, "Where's his?" She said nothing and just walked away. I sat there, waiting more. Five minutes later his plate was plopped down - again, without a word. No waitress ever said a thing to us the entire time we were there. As with other reviews this place is filthy - absolutely filthy. The kitchen and service areas look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Service is slow, rude, confused, and clumsy. The food was awful (I watched and timed it: the hash browns on my plate sat on the griddle for over half an hour!). Biscuits were cold. The gravy was so overly sticky I couldn't get through the first bite. It was absolutely disgusting. A seemingly important woman approached and offered a week apology/excuse. I would think she's the manager or even the owner but after the terrible experience we'd had her side of the conversation was downright offensive that she would even ponder the thought of an excuse. She said to me "We try to be friendly" - I pointed to the rude waitress and said "Tell HER that!". And just as I glanced at the griddle I saw the cook swap the order of tickets again. This is completely unacceptable and clearly explained why food was not being prepared timely. We were done. We will never return to this place. You shouldn't even try it.

A little greasy and a little expensive, but a nice cozy place with friendly waitstaff.
