A message from Chief Basgall:

The Clovis Police Department is dedicated to serving the citizens of Clovis. We pledge a commitment to fight crime through all creative means feasible and plausible to provide a safe and community oriented city. Our goal is to be the safest city in the valley.

The Clovis Police Department is fortunate to serve a community of 100,000 people. The saying, “Clovis is a way of Life” isn’t just a motto but a culture and a belief. The success of the Clovis Police Department comes directly from the citizens, professional staff and dedicated officers who strive to maintain the “Clovis Way of Life”.

We are proud to have been ranked as the safest city in the valley as well as ranked in the top ten percent nationally. This is a true testament to all the employees and volunteers who work diligently to provide a safe community for us all.

I would like to thank the citizens of Clovis for the ongoing support of the Clovis Police Department. Together we can continue to make Clovis a great place to live. Report this agency to your local Attorney Generals Office or the U.S. Department of Justice for all the ongoing racial profiling against Latinos and undocumented people. These punks are in violation of so many Government Codes and Code of Federal Regulations. We need to round up all the past victims that never got justice against these monsters that deserve to be disbanded. Obstructing people from their right to film police brutality. Wow. You done it now. In fact, we are going to report your behavior to the Civil Rights Division and the Federal Watchdogs. It's time to implement a concentric task force against your so called "peace officers" time to put their integrity to the test. From here on anybody could be an informant pretending to be a homeless person or even a driver. Next time you arrest someone I would think twice before attempting to violate their rights by any means. The public of New Mexico have suffered enough it's time for other States to intervene and give the people a hand.

Honestly, ive had an experience or two with clovis pd, one of them being a negative one. But you know what, it would not have been negative if i had not put myself in that place. Its the citizens fault if they have a bad experience, the officer doesn’t just go out and decide to harass a specific individual, they have a job to do, and they do it. And sometimes they might not do it Perfectly, but I can guarantee 99.9% of the time they do it to the best of their ability. People complain, as if ALL of law-enforcement are dirty or “crooked”, which is the equivalent of saying all people are felons or murderers. No group of people is perfect, there will always be a weak link, but for every weak link there are 1000 strong links. I have been treated with respect when Im respectful, and was surprisingly treated with respect even when i was disrespectful. I appreciate everything they do to protect us. And for the people saying that you “pay their salaries”, id just like to mention that law enforcement officials are required to pay taxes just like everyone else.

This "department" is shockingly disrespectful, abusive, abrasive and aggressive!
I just got off the phone with a "dispatcher" who had absolutely no respect for me or my military service. She claimed that my military service was completely trumped by a specific city police department.
She, and her department, are a shocking disgrace to our nation!!!
It's been a while (fortunately) since I've given this type of a review for a police "department".
Trust me, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS DUMP OF A POLICE "DEPARTMENT".
