This museum is one of the coolest in Denver. It has rocks and minerals from all over Colorado and the world (and a few from the Moon!) and ranging from gem stones to those you'd find in your back yard. There's a fun glow in the dark section, and a movie on the geological history of Golden that teaches you about the formations right outside your window. If you're not a geology enthusiast, the samples are pretty and rare enough to be thought of like nature's sculptures.

Great museum. Lots of interesting exhibits. Kid friendly. My 8 year old really enjoyed it. Parking is an issue.

Fun, even for those who aren't into geology (such as myself). It has two floors of rocks, minerals, and gemstones, with displays for different parts of Colorado, as well as displays for different parts of the world, like Europe and South America.

They have a lot of really cool samples here: some beautiful electrum, samples from North Table, nearly TEN grams of moon rock, a big ol' dinosaur spine, a bunch of florescent rocks, and also sorts of other specimens!
