This place was hokey but fun. We didn't plan on visiting but it was on a tour we were on and we are glad we did. Lots of old west Americana and the location has really beautiful views. Learned alot about the man (Buffalo bill) that we knew very little about prior to this. Good place to take kids for sure.

Resting place of Buffalo Bill atop Lookout Mountain. Great views can be had here, but it was foggy with zero visibility during our trip. The museum charges an entrance fee but the store and fudge/snack shop along with the gravesite and rest of the grounds are free to visit. Large parking lot can accommodate buses and other large vehicles.

The museum is interesting in the sense that it shows how much racism has changed over the past 100 years. Back in Buffalo Bill's day, it was normal to show off an "Indian", a "gaucho", and a "Japanese warrior" with no fear of being accused of racism or stereotyping. Today, such displays are shocking and appalling, but they're from the early 20th century (and late 19th), so most people just dismiss them as anachronisms.

As far as the museum goes, I give it 5 stars. Wonderful remodeled museum displaying the life & legacy of William "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Admission is approx. $5, varying on if you are a senior, child, or adult. As far at the grave goes, I give it 4 stars. While it was interesting & historic, the viewing machine was out of order. Don't visit the grave first like I did. I at first assumed he was one of those "macho" soldiers in the Indian Wars, & that he was a gun loving, Native American hater. I was happily mistaken, & revisited his grave with much respect for him as I found in the museum that he was an abolitionist, trailblazer, women's rights supporter, & close friend to Native American tribes. As far as the restaurant goes, I give it 1 star. I didn't even eat there, but I saw the "cook" touching the food with his bare hands. I put cook in quotation marks because the menu was just frozen store bought stuff! I can't say much better for the gift shop... very tacky. Overall, I give this complex 3 stars, but an overall 4 to 5 stars for the museum & grave.

This place has fantastic views of Denver and golden. There's also a little shop right next to it that serves food that's very good but a bit on the more expensive side. They also have Colorado nic nacs for sale again kind of a tourist spot so on the expensive side. I highly suggest going up to this spot from golden lots of fun good views and lots of switchbacks for motorcycle riders. Please drive the speed limit bicyclist use that road and lots of foot traffic!!!!
