'Small Museum, Big Discoveries' - Encounter Famous Fossils: Hands-on Exhibits and Expert Tours.

Story

Morrison Natural History Museum is the "small museum with big discoveries." The first giant Jurassic dinosaurs were found at Morrison, Colorado in 1877. Active research of local Jurassic rocks have yielded famous baby dinosaur footprints that have been featured in 'Smithsonian' magazine and media outlets around the world. These finds nourish touchable exhibits that are designed to be toured with a guide.

A visit is the perfect orientation to the Red Rocks and Dinosaur Ridge areas.

Great family friendly museum to visit for visitors of all ages. The staff here are very very knowledgeable and give a very detailed yet fun tour. There are so many fossils and casts here to check out and you get to touch several of them. Plus you get the experience to work on excavating a fossil on the tour. Remember to stop by the awesome gift shop on the way out too.

I was going to entertain my son by taking him. I'm not really into dinosaurs. But this little museum was well worth the time and money. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting. A must see in my opinion.

The museum is small but it is packed with many delightful pieces of History. The group I was with had a tour and our guide was very knowledgeable. I highly suggest going here with anyone that loves dinosaurs. If you don't love dinosaurs before you go, I guarantee you will be a fan after.

It is a fun place if you're interested in dinosaurs and alike. I enjoyed the guided tour and visiting people working on real fossil. Do not that it's not ideal for really young kids, although free. Because most things are not allowed to touch, you need to be able to control the kid. Also it's really small, so done expect to spend more than an hour.

Great people and facility. Spectacular dinosaur specimens, footprints (including babies!), and amazing fossils. Loved the work in progress stones out front too. Worth every penny, and a nice break on our way up in to the mountains.
