The Urgent Care Department (Excluding the nurses to an extent) is a good example of why this industry needs deregulation. I went in regarding a back issue, I was labeled a drug seeker and sent on my way. I never asked for drugs. I said very openly that this issue occurs once a year and that I was looking for a long term solution. In total the doctor was in the room for 3 minutes and touched my back twice. I am going to do everything I can to fight these bills. Update- they sent me a letter that offered minimal answers and ignored the concern i stated above. Added a star for the letter and because i feel like i under rated the nurses in the first review.

My son was in a roll over accident on 151. He went through the sun roof busting it out. He walked away with a small cut, but went to Columbus Hospital. The doctor came in twice staying aprox 2-3 mins each time. Both times we told him my son had two previous consusions and his head hurt. The man didn't acknowledge that. I pointed out my son's ear canal was packed with dirt from dragging on the shoulder. The second time he came in was to explain my son would be checked for blood clots in his neck from having a seat belt on. We mentioned his head again and were blown off. We told the nurse he'd had consusions and he'd gone through the sunroof head first. All this while the doctor was down the hall laughing and joking. Fortunately, he had an appointment with his primary doctor the next day for something else. He told her he still had a headache and didn't feel well. She took him seriously and it turned out he had a serious concussion. He was off work for three and a half months during which time he had to wait for his short term disability insurance to start paying. Now I learned Columbus Community Hospital sued him over the bill he couldn't pay and are taking half his pay each month. Like someone else said we figured he was treated like a drug seeker and so ignored. He didn't ask for medication once. Shameful - they assume your telling lies, send you home to maybe die, then sue you for thousands for doing nothing. That doctor never looked at his ear and dirt in his hair or the small cut and no one bothered to clean it. I had to ask for a wet rag and do it myself. Horrible people.

I went to Urgent Care 3 1/2 weeks ago, with flu symptoms. I told them that I had NO INSURANCE. I felt pretty crappy of course and they started an I.V. right away...then they decided that I needed a CAT scan (I was not feeling good enough to argue about it)... I spent over 4 hours there, feeling like a slab of meat, most of the time in a room alone listening to irritating beeping of the machines (that no one could bother to come and turn off)... When I got tired of sitting there, I got dressed to leave...was told that I had to wait for the "Doctor"....wound up taking the I.V. needle out of my arm myself... All in all...after telling them that I had NO INSURANCE, I got my $10,307.92 bill in the mail. THAT'S RIGHT!!!! $10,307.92. For the flu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't send your worst enemy to this dump.

If you need urgent care or emergency services, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If there were a zero, that’s what they’d get. My son was having convulsions so we went here. BAD IDEA! After the nurse did her thing, an RN came in and asked the same questions all over again. Then the Doctor came in and asked the same questions again, did an exam and left. A little while later, she came back with a plan to have blood work and a “rapid” strep screen. The phlebotomist was great (best part of the visit). Then we waited... and waited... about 45 minutes later, I put the call light on to find out when they were going to do the “rapid” strep swab. The call light turns off about 5 minutes later. No one says a word, no one come into the room. Finally 15 minutes after I called, I walk out of the room only to find people on their computers (I get it everything is on computers now) the RN asks me what I needed, I ask about the “rapid” strep screen, he says “it’ll be a while yet.” 15 minutes later, he comes in with ibuprofen (never asked for this btw) and says “this is what you get when you go to an urgent care with an ER department. ER patients are more important.” I was FURIOUS!! He does the swan and states it’ll be another 15 minutes for the results (this test takes approximately 7 minutes btw!) But okay, that’s fine. OVER an hour later, doctor comes in with the results. We were there over 3 hours!! Now I received a bill in the mail for THOUSANDS of dollars for a visit billed “EMERGENCY” department, not once, but TWICE on the same bill.. I even geve them my insuranve card, which they had for over 2 hours!! I will NEVER step foot in this sorry excuse for a hospital!! Steer clear!!!

My wife gave birth to our second son here. Our stay in the hospital was only 12 hrs but every member of staff there from doctors to the people delivering food to our room was extremely professional, helpful, friendly and kind. I can't say a bad word about our time there.
