Comforts of Home Vet Care, PC is a small animal house call practice in Birmingham, AL owned by R. Vaughn Walker, DVM. Dr. Walker is a 1995 graduate from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Story

Services include routine veterinary care - Vaccines, heartworm testing, skin conditions, ear infections and other routine care that does not require hospitalization.
Services do NOT include - After hours calls, euthanasia, x-rays, illnesses that would require testing or hospitalization, grooming, nor emergencies. If you have an emergency please contact the Emergency & Specialty Animal Medical Center on Acton Road (205) 967-7389.

This has been such a hard week for my family & I as one week ago today we had to lead our sweet boy Max to Heaven. Dr. Cameron and her husband were so patient , calming, and gentle with our hearts and our buddy Max. The peace and comfort they gave Max and our family is something I will forever be grateful for. The respect and love they shown are words I cannot put from my heart to paper. I thank you for everything.
Words cannot express how greatful we are that we found Dr. Cameron and Bobby. They are so kind and empathetic, and were from the moment I spoke to them. I would recommend this process to anyone faced with the difficult decision of helping a friend pass. My sweet Jackson was able to be calm and relaxed in his own home and that is truly a gift. Everything was well communicated, and nothing felt rushed.
If you’re on the fence at all, don’t be. This service was the most peaceful way to help guide my precious Hercules to the other side. I was able to hold my pup as I always do and watch him leave this world as if in a dreamy sleep. It might not seem like it but having time with him after he was gone was sort of healing. Every step of the process was outlined and time given in between. They listened to stories I recanted of his life which put me at ease. When taking him out of our home, they wrapped him up in a blanket with his face visible and put him on a stretcher. It was such a respectful process from start to finish. I chose private cremation and that was also very beautifully handled. His cremains and paw print and fur were well packaged and came with a lot of reading material for grief and they even offer counseling. This was a very peaceful process despite how huge of a loss it feels.
Words can not describe how amazing Dr. Cameron and Bobby were! The amount of compassion they had for us was unmeasurable. From the time we called them to the time we had to say goodbye to our sweet Bodie, they were so kind and sympathetic every step of the way. Losing our beloved Bodie was one of the most difficult things we’ve had to deal with ! They allowed us time to grieve with him and love on him and they showed Bodie just as much love as we did! Thank you Dr. Cameron and Bobby for being so amazing and thank you for taking care of Bodie for us as he is on his next journey of life!!
Dr Cameron and her husband were very professional and sympathetic. Couldn't be more pleased with their services. It's always hard to lose a pet but with comfort crossing our dog was very comfortable and we felt that Dr Cameron was very sincere and informative. Highly recommend for anyone who is faced with the unfortunate need for their services.
I can not express the gratitude myself and family have for Dr. Cameron and her husband Bobby. They made one of the most difficult experiences comfortable and calm for our Bonnie. They truly are two of the most compassionate people and a blessing in moments like these. Thank you
I can’t even begin to explain how amazing Dr. Courtney and Bobby are. They were so caring and compassionate with my puppers. It was like having a family member help end his suffering not a stranger. Dr. Courtney explained everything before she did it, every step of the way and had the kindest and most supportive words for my family as we went through this hard process together. She was extremely accommodating as well. We wanted to do things outdoors as that was my pups favorite place and she was all for it. It’s never an easy choice to make but being able to say goodbye to my guy at home where we were all the most comfortable was a little less stressful on all of us. I can’t thank them enough for the service they provide and also the cleanliness and professionalism they offered as well.
Dr Cameron was absolutely wonderful and compassionate when we had to have our sweet and beautiful Ripley put to sleep. My son held his little girl as she went to sleep. I would like to thank you for the time and care you took with her and us through this process as heartbreaking as it was.
Dr Cameron is exceptional. Making the decision to put a pet down is extremely difficult and she was able to put our minds at ease that we were making the right decision. From the moment you contact her she shows what a compassionate person she is. Being able to be with our sweet boy in our home during this time was the best way we could have done this. She is a very comforting person. She was very sweet with Rocky as well as our other dog and our two cats. She even sent a sympathy card to us a few days later with very kind and comforting words. We highly recommend her.
Dr. Cameron and her husband were both so genuinely kind and compassionate. We needed a last minute appointment due to a sudden decline and late diagnosis and they were very accommodating. We are so grateful for the service Comfort Crossing provides and Dr. Cameron's approach and delivery was such a bright spot on such a dark day.
