Craftsman Table and Tap is a neighborhood restaurant, located in the heart of Middleton, featuring only the best in the craft of hospitality, food, beer and cocktails.

Story

The food isn't fussy, but will exemplify the craft of cooking. Excellent and inventive food is offered at a great value. The menu features sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, and entrée specials inspired by local and seasonal ingredients.

And what is more Wisconsin than a great place to have a craft beer or craft cocktail? Our beer selection is extensive, showcasing craft brews with 18 taps and an...other 50 bottles. The list features the best of the local brews, as well as, some of the best craft beers from the rest of the world. Craft cocktails will be inspired by the classics, like an Old Fashioned to die for and a Bloody Mary served with its own garden.

Enjoy Happy Hour from 4-6pm, Sunday through Thursday. Specials showcase our rotating draft beer and wine selection, with $3 Featured Drafts and $5 glasses of wine.

The food is very good; this isn't a little hole in the wall, so expect it to get busy, especially on fridays, Saturdays, and special events (football games, graduation... anything involving badger pride that would merit a nice night out). The food is kind of pricey, but it's a bit of an upscale place and once again, it's very well cooked. I recommend the Craftsman Burger, personally. Service can sometimes be kind of slow and you'll wait 15-20 minutes for your food on a busy night. But as long as the drinks are cold and the food is hot when it gets there, it suits me just fine.

It used to be better. The service was good though. The food has gone downhill. Pretzel app isn't as good. The pretzel was hard. Sandwiches were about half the size they used to be but were the same price. Kid's meal was good and came with fresh apples.

Memorial Day weekend and their air conditioning is broken. I understand it’s probably difficult to get emergency services in here, as the bartender informed us it would be Tuesday before it was repaired. To me this is the owners not wanting to pay an extra several thousand on the service call, which is fine, on any other day than a 90+ degree weekend. Long term the issue is that they probably did a cost analysis and said they wouldn’t lose much business by not paying the extra fee. But that’s not considering reputation; for how you treat employees and whether you think of them as resources only or also people. That kitchen has to be inhumanly hot. The front of house is nastily hot already. No one should have to work like this. I’m not ashamed enough to not order, as it’s the owner’s responsibility and their blame that they are putting their front of house and back of house through this heat. And this kind of problem can always be fixed promptly. It is a matter of money, which makes the behavior pretty uncool. Food is average to good. Ambiance is fine when it and the workers are not covered in a thin layer of sweat. It gets five star for Middleton dining, 3.5 compared to downtown Madison quality. Ultimately I don’t like to eat while I’m watching others suffer, which makes this a two star visit, because at least the employees are nice and the food is fine.

Wait on Friday was shorten than they said, and patio was nice.  A lot of tables empty and waiting to be set.  Food was good, and service was good.   People watching there was fun.

We called ahead like we were asked to do to put our name on the list. Once we were there, we were told it would be another half-hour before we would be seated. Once we were seated, it was almost another hour before we got our food. The server was very polite and said she was sorry about the wait, and asked if I wanted a side salad. Once the food came out, my salmon was luke warm. It was taken off the ticket, which we appreciated. We will probably go back at a less busier time.
