My son was in this facility and we had a good experience. They were waiting on us when we got there. They immediately started the intake procedure. All the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful. When the ER sent the wrong list of currant medications the nurse immediately wrote down the correct dosages and called the doctor to get them corrected. My son never complained about anything about his experience. Upon discharge I did not have to wait like I have at other hospitals. I had requested certain material during the family meeting and everything was ready in a nice folder. All his clothes were returned at time of discharge.

I like this hospital and it is my first choice for emergency psychiatric care. The staff is caring. I love Mr. Bill, the nurses, David, and the admissions staff. Things move slowly. That's just how hospitals work. It is not just Cross Creek. You can't do anything about it. Tips: - Participate in your care. Be your own advocate. No one is going to do it for you. Be honest about what you need. It sucks being trapped there but take advantage of it. - You can pretty much guarantee you will be there AT LEAST 72 business hours. This does not include weekends. If you get there on Saturday, your 72 hours does not start until Monday morning. This applies to ED (emergency detention) as well. - If you have to ask if you are ED, you probably aren't. - Go to those groups! Go to breakfast, lunch, dinner. Hang out in the day room. It may be the last thing you want to do, but that's something they monitor. You have to put in the effort. Hiding in your room all day is gonna get you trapped there longer. - Bring warm clothes. Don't bring those booty shorts. You aren't gonna want to wear them. It is never warm. Don't count on it. - Have visitors. Give them your access code. Put them on your list. It breaks up the monotony of the day. You will appreciate seeing familiar faces. - Lastly, be courteous to the staff. They choose to be there. Sometimes they seem grumpy, but it probably has nothing to do with you. Take their attitude with a grain of salt. They are busy. They really do want to help you.

This is the single worst mental health facility I have ever encountered. My friend had a reaction to a drug and became suicidal. She spent 3 days in cross creek doing absolutely nothing, except for occasionally coloring in coloring books and in total joke group sessions. She was given two drugs which have a bad reaction, and her symptoms all worsened. They did not even meet with her to diagnose. They just started medicating her without any blood tests or meeting with the psychologist/psychiatrist). I was her guardian and primary point of contact and they lied to me repeatedly about numerous matters. The director is the single most dishonest health care professional I have ever encountered. This place is nothing more than a butts in beds, understaffed, failing their patients and worse. A patient was complaining that they had been there six days and no one had even met with them yet. SIX DAYS. Despite her being able to check out voluntarily we had to involve a lawyer and the director from the non-profit in town that funds musician mental health in order to get them to release her so we could take her somewhere else. It was a total nightmare. She was freezing, and I had to go buy her clothing and warm items. In no way does this place offer anything but baby sitting for those who are ill. It is absolutely worse than star. We went there seeking genuine help and she came out far worse and due to their failure to diagnose prior to administering drugs she worsened before we could get her in on a drug that did not make things bad. She was struggling with her weight due to a physical issue and the drugs they gave her made her throw up and she dropped to 86lbs from 98 before getting things under control. Seriously, this place should be shut down.

Business office on the phone needs to be more polite. I asked for HR department and she snapped at me saying that "you were already given the number to press for HR but here you go I'll transfer you", but the menu option had changed and there was no longer an option. I couldn't even explain this, because she quickly transferred me.
