Each year I take a group of friends to a different state park that I've not been to yet for a men's weekend. This year we decided to head to Cumberland Falls...what a great weekend! The weather was perfect for early March, sunny and temps in the 50's. We stayed in a deluxe cabin which provided ample room for 6 of us. We stopped in Corbin and stocked up for the weekend, and we found the kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils, plates and the like. It turned out, to my surprise, that we had a perfect weekend to see the moonbow at the falls both nights we were at the park. Saturday presented a terrific day of hiking; trails were available on both sides of the river, though we hiked off trail a good bit with no problem. This is definitely one of the best resort parks in Kentucky! Give it a try!

Since leaving NY with all its upstate history and beauty we were looking for outdoor activities in our new home state of Ky. We've been here several times and even brought a family friend visiting from NY here. This is a great place to be with nature with some great hiking nearby. We've hiked the Eagle Falls trail and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are plenty of activities.

We had a tremendous view of the Cumberland river at sunrise. Hotel has been updated, rooms are very clean, the restaurant buffet is good. Wireless coverage is spotty at the far end rooms of the Hotel. What makes this place special is the 1930s construction of stone and logs. Its just beautiful in the lobby with a fire going in that monster stone fireplace. Leather sofas and chairs are comfy by the fire. Step back in time and enjoy this jewel!

We had an excellent time at this state park. We camped here over Thanksgiving. There was no water in the campground due to a broken pipe but we knew this ahead of time. We ate dinner off the menu our first night and had the Thanksgiving buffet the next day. The food is excellent. Service is good as well, thoughtful, polite, and efficient. After moving on to Mammoth Cave for a couple of nights, we decided to stay at Cumberland falls on our way home. We tried the dinner buffet this time and it was wonderful. Combined with the beauty of the falls, you could not ask more of a state resort park. We will be back.

Beautiful place of nature. It's free to the public. They have a great gift shop and clean restroom facilities. The trails near and down to the falls are wide and easy to walk on. The top part is handicap accessible but down to the falls is a lot of steps. A great place for a family outing!
