Story

Founded in 1976, Cycle Loft has been on the Boston bicycle scene for nearly 40 years, doing its best to wow its customers with excellence in customer service be it through product knowledge, service expertise, or merchandise selection. I was at this store today with a 50 year old Schwinn Collegiate I had had restored. The intent was to get a picture and discuss the bike with a manager or owner. There is a sticker on the bike showing that it had originally been purchased at Cycle Loft all those years ago. I thought it made a good statement about how Cycle Loft products stand the test of time or how the company has been around for so many years. I expected to have a conversation and see if other old bikes had been brought back. Although the manager allowed me to take the picture I wanted, he rudely disappeared when I unloaded my bike from my car. He didn't even see it! He didn't want to talk about it! This review is to remind him that every interaction with a customer in the store is an opportunity to build a relationship which becomes a base on which future sales are either made or lost. When I see negative reviews about the employees at this store, I'm thinking the bad attitudes might be originating from management.

Top notch service. Brought two bikes in, was thinking I'd pick them up on Sat. The bikes were not as bad as I thought. He did all the work right there & then. Big win for me. Time: he did it on the spot. Expertise: he knew the problem right away so could fix it w ease. Value: I paid 25% of what I thought it was going to cost me. This place rocks. Thanks guys!! BTW, killer bike selection... all kinds of sweet rides. A must see... location is 120x better too.

Went in for shoes. Nate was unbelievably knowledgeable right down to how my 'metatarsals' would react in certain shoes. I got a great pair of Specialized MTB shoes as well as a new helmet from a great selection and a few pairs of shorts. Again, one of the other sales clerks gave me the whole run down of modern helmet technology. I even signed up for their rewards club.

Expert, friendly service (my first time here). Came in knowing I wanted to make the jump from cages to clips—Lexi walked me thru all my options, helped me get educated and acclimated then helped me find the right fit and products (and saved me a bunch with their sale prices; I made out spending $150 less than I thought it was going to cost). One of their techs even installed the cleats on to the shoes for me. An absolute joy and can't wait to come back!
