Mel is the best. For first time gun owners or even experienced ones, he makes you feel right at home. He doesn’t pressure you or try and preach this or that. He genuinely enjoys helping people and runs his place with the professionalism of a business but with the enthusiasm and relaxed personal touch of a hobbyist. All around great guy.

Very professional. No nonsense straight to the point t. Made my first purchase very pleasant and quick. I live up north NJ and will do the travel again to do business with Mel.

I bought my first firearm from Mel on 07-17-13. For the past month i have been trying to buy the new Walther PPQ M2 and every gun shop i called or visited stated that i had to be put on a waiting list for this firearm due to the high volume of people who want to buy this firearm. Some shops stated that they have a wait of up to two months. A few days ago I was searching online and came across Defensive Security. I called Mel up and two days later was able to buy this amazing firearm from him. The price was great. But the best part was that Mel is very personable and he takes his time to make sure that the firearm is right for you unlike the gun shops who make you feel uncomfortable and pressure you into making a quick purchase.. I would recommend this dealer to anyone who wants to purchase a firearm. Wish i could give more stars then 5.

Bought my first firearm from Mel. He was very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable. He is also a certified NRA instructor and I plan on taking a handgun safety class with him....can't wait!
