After getting new insurance I had to switch dentists. I picked Dental Specialty Associates due to the convenient location and positive reviews. After making a general appointment, they sent several reminders (multiple phone calls and texts). I appreciate 1 or 2 but it was excessive. I also received 3 separate calls asking the exact same question to confirm my insurance information. They also say that if you don’t confirm or cancel within 48 hours you’ll have to pay a fee. I showed up for my appointment and you could just feel the stress from the receptionists. I was taken back within a reasonable amount of time. The lady took my X-rays and then the dentist showed up. He quickly checked my teeth and told me I needed to come back for a cleaning and a filling. I’ve never been to a dentist that does X-rays and cleanings on a different day! I have to take off work for these appointments so the fact that I’d have to take off 3 separate times is frustrating. After the appointment they had me sit in the waiting room for a long time and then meet with someone just to discuss the cost of the next appointments. While I appreciate the discussion, she was very flustered, called me by the wrong name, told me 3 different prices and definitely didn’t sound sure about which was the correct one. I ended up spending an hour and a half at the office and all I did was get X-rays done. I scheduled my next two appointments and ended up cancelling after this experience.

Everyone is so sweet and ever since the first time I have been there I have never chosen any where else. They make me feel so comfortable and really do care. I love all of the staff!

Dr Berger was once again patient and thorough. My experience is that he wants the patient/me to feel the work is acceptable and comfortable and that he is willing to spend time with adjustments until the I feel secure about the work performed. If I need to return for more tweaking so to speak then he is ready to help.

I am giving this place a star because I have too. Other than that, this place is the worst in professionalism. Jeanette in billing had one of the worst attitudes and the I can't begin to tell you about her tone, demeaning and condescending demeanor for patients and their families. We will never go back there again, my daughter wasn't treated there for the same reason, thanks, but no thanks. I shouldn't have to do your job calling insurances to see why my daughter hasn't gotten authorization for services. Then lie about denials. I felt my daughter got discriminated. This office is just awful.

I have taken my Granddaughter to this dentist twice to have her wisdom teeth removed and have been unsuccessful both times. Because we are travelling 100 miles from Payson for these appointments we have checked that everything is ready and all insurance coverage have been authorized at least a day in advance of the appointments. Both times when we got there they then tell us there is a problem with the insurance. The last visit would have gone ahead, but for the fact that at least two other customers while we were there were asked after they had their procedures done to pay the outstanding balances before they leave and apparently had no idea there was an outstanding balance before having the procedure. We then asked the admin staff to double check to make sure that everything was approved before we went in for the surgery. Sure enough after confirming this the day before it was now a problem. Therefore we too would have been told after the surgery that we needed to pay an outstanding balance that would have been covered by our insurance if their admin had done their job properly before we had travelled 100 miles for nothing.
