Innovative Indian cuisine with the family in mind. Excellence is part of our daily routine, and it shows. Our food service and cleanliness is second to none. Serving delicious Northern Indian cuisine for the past 11+ years, a restaurant which loves it's community and in return is loved by the community. This basement dining facility belies the quality of food you get.  Being accustomed to the top quality Indian food you can get in New York city, my wife and I were desperate for good Indian when we tried this place.  Having been recently transplanted to the DC area and failing to find a decent Indian restaurant we considered ourselves very lucky when we found Dishes.  The quality of the meats is high including the lamb, where some places decide to skimp.  The chicken is very flavorful and the most tender you'll find anywhere.  The curries are so tasty and great as leftovers too.  If you have a great appetite the lunch buffet is a must.  The service is next to none, everyone is so nice and respectful.   If you're having a bad day and people have treated you poorly just come here for dinner.  You'll feel better as you climb out the basement stairs.  The decor is nice and clean.  Really have no complaints.  Clearly the owners care about the food and the meals they serve their patrons.

Great food, reasonably priced! We usually order for pick up, and we never have to wait long. Compared to other Indian restaurants we've visited, I also feel like they give you more food for the price -- I usually have enough left over for another meal.

The best Indian Buffett in alexandria.. all the Buffett dishes freshly cooked. They make just enough to keep it fresh and hot..

I'm posting 5 stars but I swear the food tastes better later in the day rather than earlier. Not a big fan of the lunch buffet.
