Story

The charming Mount Vernon Inn restaurant serves lunch daily and elegant candlelit dinners Tuesday through Saturday by reservation. The Inn offers six intimate dining rooms, two with fireplaces, all with colonial charm, costumed servers, and delicious regional and colonial cuisine.

Our mission extends George and Martha Washington's legacy for graciously providing Southern Hospitality to all guests of Mount Vernon Estate.

Friday and Saturday: 4:30pm - 9:00pm

We had a large group with approximately 125 people. They crammed us into one room with chair backs pushing against each other. The room's acoustics were not conducive for a meeting. The room was very loud needless to say with so many people packed on top of each other, dishes and utensils clanking together, and speakers trying to project their voices that deep and wide. The food was good, but not 5 star to say the least. Perhaps I entered the establishment all ready quitequite disenchanted secondary to the long walk from the parking lot in the rain. Anyone with a walking impediment should consider this when choosing to eat at this restaurant.

Very nice restaurant, good food, great service. Lunch following tour of Mt Vernon. Would consider coming here again if in area.

This is an awesome place tucked away right near DC. I have lived in Maryland all my life and never visited until now. The crowds were more than I expected and the tours were trimaran to accommodate, which was disappointing but necessary.

Suprisingly nice place to eat, with the reasonably portioned appetizers and amazing entrees. Feel free to stop here as apposed to the provided food court!

I ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. It was over cooked, burned on the bottom. It was so dry I had to take a sip of water with each bite. I ran out of water and the server never came back to my table until it was time to give me the bill. I use to enjoy going there for lunch but over the years the food and service has gotten worst.
