New renovations have doubled the size of the place. I have never gone in and was out in less than five minutes. DMV and quick service are never in the same sentence. They are now. Very friendly now that the place is bigger. Maybe there is less stress from angry hour wait customers. Maybe there is hope for other DMV's. Glad I live in the best city in the world, SPRING LAKE, NC!

Waiting is always the name of the game at the DMV. Just as surely as death and taxes. The Spring Lake Department of Motor Vehicles is the same in this regard, however they work as quickly and efficiently as possible and try to solve customer issues in the first try. They are very accommodating to military personnel and honestly try to help whenever they can. I had a very possitive experience.

The experience I had was not pleasant. The staff there seemed very overworked or lazy. I went on a Friday yet it seemed like there was no hurry. They did stay "open" for those that had been waiting for 2 hours. Yet, the waiting I did was in vain. I had called previously asking what I needed to bring in to transfer the plates I had and I was told that all I needed was registration and ID. When I entered the establishment, I had no idea that due to my vehicle being a lease from a prior state that I needed a copy of the TITLE (Front and Back) as well as power of attorney from the Lien holder. So it seemed very hectic, just wished I had not waited all that time in VAIN. So in conclusion if you have a lease from another state the things you will need.... -North Carolina Driver's license - Front and Back Copy of the TITLE - Power of Attorney with tax ID # - Proof of Insurance with the state of North Carolina - Old registration tags of the vehicle GOOD LUCK...

Super long wait time but very friendly and helpful. I would like to suggest chairs and take a number verses standing the entire hour or more. My back and feet were killing me. Lol but seriously

Went in and was surprised at how short the line was. All of the workers seemed very nice. Then a lady comes out from the back to help me and immediately had an attitude. Every question I asked she gave me a short rude answer. Told me I was going to have to pay a certain fee and when I tried to ask about another fee she rudely shut me down and said that’s not what she’s taking about. She was very rude and unwilling to help. I could not get my registration because I needed one more thing so she got me out of there as fast as she could even though nobody was waiting behind me. If I go back I will wait in line to be helped by someone more pleasant.
