Came in a few min late for my apt and was treated rudely by staff member Ludia. Her demeanor, body language, and tone of voice made me feel like I was being treated as if I were a welfare case/low income patient and she didn't have to be patient or nice to me. Every time I tried to tell her anything she cut me off with a rude and Curt response and just kept telling me to go sit down. I have never felt so degraded or discriminated against.

They got me in on very short notice (less then 4 hours) . They were punctual. I was waiting for maybe two minutes in the exam room before a doctor came in, ran some tests and left. After about five minutes they came back with the suspected diagnosis. And I was on my way to pickup my meds.

I went in to the Health Department to receive birth control since I recently moved in with my boyfriend and don't want children right now. I set up an appointment the week before and went in around 1 p.m. The staff was very friendly, informative, and helped me understand what they were doing and answered all my questions. They tried to make me as comfortable as possible. I received more help than I expected: the option of a shot or pills, answers, option for HIV/AIDS testing, pap smear exam, free condoms (I mean who doesn't like free condoms), free Calcium +vitamin D (to combat bone density loss). I am currently unemployed and the only one who works in the household is my partner. There was no cost for us. I recommend to anyone female or male to use this source or at least ask about it. The only negative thing I have to say is the waiting; we got there a little after 1:30 and left around 4. They close at 5. The waiting is understandable when there is a line which there was. Not terribly long, though, 10 people at the most. So I advise you to eat/take a snack before you go.
