John the owner is absolutely wonderful. We stayed four nights in unit D. Its a home away from home. Lots of sleeping space. I would highly recommend to stay here. We found this perfect place next time we visit Sandusky, Ohio.

I have stayed at Dockside numerous times over the years & have always had a positive experience! My friends & I have an annual get together & just love it. They look forward to it every year! There is no pool so small children may find not as exciting but the location to Cedar Point, Lake Erie Islands & restaurants are awesom.

As a long time (30 plus years) visitor to Cedar Point, I have tried every style of lodging available. Whether it is camping, cabin rentals, flea bag dive motels, quaint Mom n Pop motels, staying at one of the Cedar Point hotels, I've done them all. Hell, I've even slept in my car in the Soak City parking lot. We stumbled upon this on Google, and it immediately caught my eye. We needed space for two adults, and two teenage kids, for three nights. The larger of the two four person units was booked, so we opted for the smaller unit. It was definitely tight for four people, but we made it work. Even the smallest unit had its own deck, with a table, umbrella, and chairs, and a Weber charcoal grill. John, the owner, made us an offer we couldn't refuse for a larger unit for the next two nights. Again, this one had its own deck, table, and chairs, a small bar, and a Weber charcoal grill. It was also an upper level unit, so the deck had a wonderful view of Cedar Point at night across the bay. I was able to watch the fireworks at the park two nights in a row from the comfort of my own deck. The common area is an area with deck chairs that overlook the boat docking area, an outdoor kitchen, I saw at least three gas grills, and a tiki bar, all built with the idea of bringing all of the people staying there together for socializing, and fun. The tiki bar has a refrigerator in which to store any beverages you may choose, and no, other people drinking your beverages does not seem to be an issue. The owners have an interesting story to tell about the neighborhood, and how this place came to be. They are very gracious hosts, very down to earth, and definitely friendly. They don't expect much other than for you to respect their property as you would your own, and don't leave it broken, busted, or a disaster area. From here on out, this will be the first place I contact when I am needing lodging for our annual Cedar Point excursion, or any time spent in the island. Highly recommended.
