My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay here during the summer of 2016. We last minute decided to book a bed and breakfast, and while we were too late to enjoy the breakfast, the house and it's owners were fun and different. The experience was well worth it. The house was unlike any I had seen! Beautiful place to stay, friendly, and if you like cats as much as I do, this is the place for you!

My new husband and I stayed at The Cottage Rose for a few days after we married and it was a pleasant stay for both of us. The price to stay each night is very reasonable and Mr and Mrs Hahn are not only nice but gives you so much privacy during your entire stay, which is the entire second floor and there are many antiques to look at. It's best to bring your own food, or you can eat downtown or on Route 250, since not much of a breakfast is provided. You can make your own coffee, tea and cocoa and donut/jelly rolls are provided for breakfast but again, Mr and Mrs Hahn allows you to bring you own food during your stay. One issue my husband and I had was the shade located in the TV room, which would not stay down, especially at night, and one night someone was able to peek inside the window for quite awhile. We contacted Mr Hahn who pulled down the shade and it briefly stayed down but soon came right back up! It did not stay down anymore after that. I hope this can be looked into since myself and husband do not want this to happen to anyone else. Myself and husband are grateful to the Hahns for going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable for our entire time we were there. Overall, I would recommend staying at The Cottage Rose and myself and husband would like to come back in the future! Thank you very much Mr and Mrs Hahn!! Mr and Mrs John and Verina Craddolph

0 stars. This was the absolute worst place I've every stayed in. Although some of the artifacts were cool, the overall vibe was extremely creepy, especially the owners. The place is labeled as a bed and breakfast, but there was no breakfast (not that I would want to eat there). The second bedroom "bed" collapsed on me, the lighting was nonexistent even during the daytime, and the worst part was that the place smelled overwhelmingly of cat piss. I've lived with cats my whole life, but it was so overwhelming that it gave me an allergic reaction that sent me to the hospital. DO NOT STAY HERE>

The owners are friendly and easy going and we had complete privacy and freedom to come and go as we pleased. The home is an amazing old craftsman style mansion. It's also perfectly located to walk to the local shops and restaurants. My wife and I could have enjoyed our stay more!
